Married with Children star Ed O'Neill was the biggest name on Modern Family when it first began, which explains why he was getting paid $100,000 an episode in comparison to the $65,000 an episode afforded his adult costars.

As the show entered its fourth season, however, the show's adult cast filed a lawsuit against production company Fox Television seeking to void their original contracts in order to negotiate pay raises.
