There are different ways to look at the question. Imperial China was one dynasty followed by another, and military conquest to defeat the previous dynasty was common(the other way to replace a dynasty is through a coup). If you look at it this way, the answer is a definite yes.

这个问题可以有两种角度来看待。中华帝国时期是一个朝代接着一个朝代，通过军事打败了之前的朝代，还有就是通过政变的方式。如果是这种角度，那么中国是可以被征服的。

If you look at the question from the angle of nation-state or cultural perspective, then it becomes more interesting. Han Chinese was the dominant race in China (over 90% of population in China is Han Chinese today, even after China had annexed non-Han regions such as Tibet and Xinjiang.) However, China has been conquered twice by non Han-Chinese people in history. Once by Mongolians, the sons of Genghis Khan. The Yuan dynasty lasted less than a century. The other time was by Manchus; the Qing dynasty lasted longer and ruled China for more than 2.5 century. There are other periods of time in Chinese history that barbarians invaded to establish regimes but failed to conquer all of China; e.g. the North-South dynasties, and Five dynasties.
But does that mean China can be conquered today? No.

但是如果从民族国家或者文化角度看，那就更有意思了。汉人是中国的主要民族，如今中国超过90%的人口是汉人。然而，历史上中国被两个非汉人民族征服过，一次是蒙古人，成吉思汗的子孙，元朝持续了不到100年。另一次是满人，清朝统治更长，统治中国超过了250年。还有一些野蛮人入侵中国建立了政权，但是没能征服整个中国，比如南北朝和五代。但那是否意味着如今的中国可以被征服呢？不。

Why?
Two reasons:
China is an agrarian society historically, but China today is an industrial society. Thus the war fighting capability of China has changed drastically. The last time China was close to being conquered is WWII, when a not yet industrialized China was pitted against an industrialized Japan.
Nationalism doesn’t exist in imperial China, but it is strong in China today. During imperial China, people didn’t care too much who was the emperor as long as they weren’t too oppressive.
The only possible way to conquer China today is to bomb it into stone age and kill most Chinese, but that is more like eliminating China, not conquering China. Let’s assume for the sake of argument that this can be done, I don’t see why a victor wants to do this, since the victor will pay a high price to achieve this, and for what gain?

为什么？两个原因：
历史上，中国是个农耕社会，但如今中国是工业化社会。所以中国的战争能力已经大大改变。上一次中国接近被征服是在二战时期，当时中国还没有工业化，而敌人是已经工业化的日本。
在帝国时期，中国并不存在民族主义，但如今中国的民族主义很强烈。帝国时期，人们不太关心谁是皇帝，只要不太过压迫就好。如今唯一可能征服中国的方式就是把它炸回石器时代并杀死大部分中国人，但这更像是消灭中国而不是征服。假如真的以这种方式征服中国，那胜利者也要付出巨大的代价，所以不会轻举妄动。

China has been wholly conquered by non Chinese only twice in her long history. First by the Mongols and then the Manchus.
The Mongols could only hold on to power for less than a century before the Chinese rise up and chase them back to Mongolia.
The Manchus fared much better, their dynasty lasted 271 years, because they adopted Chinese culture and values. Today, the traditional Manchu homeland is part of China and most of their descendants have been absorbed by the manipulator Han Chinese population. Very few peoples today still use the Manchu language.
So yes, it is possible to conquer the whole of China. To successfully rule it is another matter.
The US conquered Afghanistan, but they still can't defeat the Taliban until today. 18 years later.

历史上中国两次被非中国人完全征服。先是蒙古人，然后是满人。蒙古人的统治不到100年，然后中国人崛起，将他们赶回蒙古。满人统治更长，持续了271年，因为他们采用了中国文化和价值观。今天，传统的满人家园已经成为中国一部分，他们的大部分后代也被汉人吸收。使用满人语言的人已经很少了。所以，征服整个中国是有可能的。但是要成功的统治就是另一回事了。美国征服了阿富汗，但是直到今天都无法打败塔利班。18年了。

I agree with Mo Chen's answer to Could China be conquered?.
I am a Singaporean Chinese and I would fight against China if China invaded Singapore, but…
But, I would volunteer to aid China in any capacity possible if anyone invaded China. Those are the mountains and lakes, plains and rivers of the Chinese, of our ancestors. This is the where our ancestral shrines are, where our roots are buried. The birth place of our civilisation, that we have supped on for countless generations.
Even if I end up dying, I would do whatever I could to help, and I am not alone. I would not say that the majority of the diaspora would help, but a sizeable number would for we would not want to orphans in the world… And long after the dust has settled, so long as there is still a Chinese civilization, we will continue to sing praises to the unnamed heroes, and curse the traitors. Even if we lose, so long as there are still Chinese, we will eventually take back our land.
This is our land, stay in your’s.

Yes it can. It has been before.
While we have a lot of pro-Chinese writers on here, I’ll give an opposing input for a different perspective.
We have to remember, the Mongols and Manchu’s were small tribes numbering less than a 1 to 5% of ancient China’s population. Not only that, they were poorly developed both culturally and politically.
Japan came close to achieving this. But without the successful absorption of the Korean peninsula and their cooperation, their dreams could not be achieved.
Both the modern Japanese and the Koreans have the ability to turn China to a similar fate to that of ancient Egypt and Rome. These peoples unlike their barbarian cousins, went on to establish Chinese-like civilizations but remained independent.

是的，可以被征服。而且被征服过。当时的蒙古人和满人是小部落，人口不到古代中国人口的1-5%。不仅如此，他们的发展也不及中国，包括文化和政治上。日本几乎就要征服中国。但是没能成功吸收朝鲜半岛及其合作，日本的梦想无法实现。现代的日本人和朝鲜人有能力让中国变成古埃及和古罗马那样的命运。他们不像其他的野蛮人，他们建立起了中国式的文明，而且保持独立。

Those aforementioned Northeast Asian groups such as the Koreans and the Japanese are far more developed culturally, politically and even technologically. Not only that, China already in-houses Northeast Asian minorities who can easily be converted to march and reformat the Chinese landscape successfully ending the Chinese franchise permanently.
Aside from this, the major ethnic identities residing in Southeast Asia also has this capability. Only if they could put some differences aside and march through a coalition. With some allies and technological progress required. And could turn China into a similar fate like that of today’s Palestine.
Most highly educated officials agree on this potential shift in the Asian continent. But it is a difficult task indeed however I will note that it is very much possible. Especially in the near future.

这些东北亚群体比如朝鲜人和日本人在文化，政治，甚至经济上都更加发达。不仅如此，现在中国管辖着东北亚少数民族，这些少数民族可以游行示威，重塑中国图景，成功的终结中国的统治。此外，东南亚的族群也有这种能力。只要他们能够将摒弃异见，形成联盟。再加上盟友和技术进步的加持，就可以将中国变成如今的巴勒斯坦。
