What functions will BeiDou have – both in and outside China?

China has announced the official launch of the BeiDou-3 global navigation satellite system. The final satellite was put into orbit last month, with the following testing successful. The Chinese system has joined in GPS, Glonassa and Galileo in providing services worldwide.
