So WZ-121 is the chinese T-62A

China managed to get their hands on a t-62 from a river which will be in part 2 i think. And managed to reverse engineer it but not a copy

oh and T62a is the early version of the t62, in wot its called t-62a but the ones in real life is generally known as T-62

i was taught that vietnam was busy fighting with pol pot in cambodia, the pol pot was like mass murder there, so brother communist came in and helped cambodia out. but i’ve never been taught why china fight vietnam. the elder just say “it’s the border war” or something. and they just like “oh suddenly after helped us to build the dam, they drawed their specialists back and started a war…”.

He told the media that a kid that don’t listen will get slapped.(he said that not me) If you do think about it, China spend 10 times its annual military spends to help out with the Viennese war so NVA could win but suddenly, they started claiming after they defeated the US that they are the 3rd strongest nation on the planet and chose the abandon China for the USSR. And trust me the leadership of China at the time weren’t scared of war because they fought wars throughout their lives. In the end, Viennese troops moved the border into China and China retaliated with the full scale war.

I was told by my father, who was a soldier who served in the Cambo – Vietnam war, that the war that China wage on Vietnam couldn’t be avoided, because Vietnam had betrayed China by ally with the Soviet after China had invested in Vietnam so much: => China had to declare war on Vietnam, else they would lose their face.
As I understand, the events are as follow:
- Vietnam, Cambodia were China’s ally. Vietnam was also Russia’s ally.
- Relationships between China and Russia went bad, Vietnam picked Russia.
- China got angry, Cambodia invaded Vietnam.
- Vietnam fought back, and Cambodia requested China for helps.
- As Cambodia is their ally, and Vietnam betrayed them, China waged war on Vietnam to save face, and to force Vietnam’s army to withdraw (if I were China’s leader, I would do the same, lol).
- As China knew that the war with Vietnam should only be a warning, since a throughout war would not bring China any profits. And that would bring them to a full-scale war with Russia, they stop after dealing enough damage and withdraw.

我的父亲曾经告诉我（他曾是柬越战争中的一名士兵）中越战争不可避免，因为中国在越南身上投下血本后，越南为了与苏联结盟而背叛了中国。因此中国必然会开战否则就丢尽脸面了。
据我所知以下这些是当时发生了什么
越南，柬埔寨是中国盟友，越南也是苏联的盟友
中苏关系破裂，越南站队到了苏联一方
中国生气了，柬埔寨入侵越南
越南反击，柬埔寨请求中国伸出援手
鉴于柬埔寨是盟友，而越南是二五仔，为了维护颜面中国开战以迫使越南撤军（我要是中国领导人我也会这么干）
中国知道对越之战只是个警告，因为整场战争无利可图。而为了防止演变为中苏间的全面战争，他们在造成足够的损害并另其撤军后就停战了。

The tank in the last picture (bottom right) looks so much like the romanian TR-580 and that doesn’t surprise me since Romania sought help in China for the project.

Those are used to extinguish fires at oilrigs, ones like in Kuwait, or gas fires. They blow it away with the turbojet. Hungarians made a similar thing on a t-34 chassis and mig 21 engines.

过去这种玩意用来熄灭钻井平台的火灾或瓦斯火焰，在科威特有类似的东西，他们用涡轮机把火吹灭。匈牙利人曾用T-34底盘和米格21发动机造过类似的东西。

Btw, 2 years ago there were still Type 59-1(with 105mm) on training grounds; I saw them at the training ground near Beijing Tank Museum.

they are used now to support infantry and not to do tank vs tank battles. I guess its better to have type 59s as support for infantry than nothing

The Pakistani picture was my favorite.
It showed that the nifty modern wedge-shaped turret is just a sheet-armor facade.
Underneath can be clearly seen the old hemispherical turret. Like a Volkswagen beetle kit to look like a Ferrari – underneath it’s still a beetle. :P
