WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Pentagon said onFriday it was looking at Chinese complaints that a B-52 bomber recently flewnear a Chinese artificial island in the South China Sea, a sensitive issuebecause the two powers disagree over Beijing's territorial claims in the region.

华盛顿（路透社）——五角大楼周五称正在调查中国就有关一架B-52轰炸机飞近南海中国人造岛屿的抱怨。这是一个敏感的话题，因为两国就北京在该地区的主权声明存在分歧。

Navy Commander Bill Urban, a Pentagon spokesman,said the United Statesregularly conducts B-52 training missions throughout the region but there wasno plan for the B-52 to fly within 12 nautical miles of any artificial island.

The intrusion of the B-52 bomber which mayhave been loaded with bombs was provocative and may justify China's futuremove to prevent such a repeat . It will give reason for China tostation fighter planes on the reclaimed area . This is such BS! The US doesn't recognize China's claims of these artificialislands, and yet, they claim the B-52 was outside of the 12 nautical miles,why? If the limit doesn't apply to man-made islands, why not go closer andstate it as such!
