Like a bully on a playground, the sooner the bully is faced off thebetter the outcome and results. Allowing a bully to continue his ways onlymakes him more confident, more aggressive. You take down an opponent as soon aspossible rather than wait for a time where he has grown. Such is the case hereand now. It is time for the U.S., Vietnam, Australia, Japan, Taiwan, India, andothers to take a stand even if it means military conflict with China. Doingnothing will only make the situation worse in the long-run. Act now, riskingfar less than may be necessary years from now.

Hesaid he didn't care if it took 100 years. 25 years later, a senior US diplomatasked the then Chinese Vice President if the 100 year figure to take backTaiwan was still in affect. The VP's answer was, "no it is not, it is now75 years."
Relations between Taiwan and China are pretty normal today. They have a lot oftrade and tourism between both countries and I suspect they will be unitedunder the same concept as Hong Kong, one country, two governments with Beijinghaving the ultimate say.
