Without any offence to Indians I just find it comic once I hear remarks like "the giants of Asia". There are no giants. There is only one giant and it's China. Look at GDP figures, look at poeple's incomes, literacy rate, healthcare, infrastructre, transport, womens' position in society, poverty reduction... everything. There is absolutely NO contest here in either medium or long term. There is no India and Chine here. There is only China in the context of what this film is trying to show us.

China doesn't like to surpass anyone or dominate in the world, their 5000 years wisdom telling them being harmony and keeping balance is the only way for survival forever. It's totally different with the western minds. India is friend, cooperation together is the way of advancement. The American's tactics like to make wars and conflicts between countries, which weakens their power and cooperation, and making profits from them.

Hopefully I'll see who gets the upper hand in my lifetime though I'll be old by then... [personally I think China will get there first but in the end, in the long run India will triumph although it might take a century more...

You have to remember India, one of the largest economies for hundreds of years, was stripped of it's trade and commerce by the British for centuries, whereas China had no such problem.
India has had to rebuild this economy from scratch post independence.
Now India is developing it's innovation on innovation not copies, and cheap products.
Innovation and new ideas is what India has been in the forefront off, and will promote the growth. As with education, well look at the tech industry and the medical circles, India leads in Pharma development and software innovation.
To continue to demolish farmland and move into industry causes more conflict within the economy of a county. This is why democracy are more important than putting an international image of success by rapid building enforced by a government.
Growing and development takes time and as they say Rome was not built in a day, which China is trying to do, to it's own risk.

Unfortunately, the truth is, China produces basically EVERYTHING. One can hardly list all things China produces, and maybe trying to list things China cannot produce is possible: big commercial plane, super carrier, Saturn-V-size rocket, what else?
