If you look closely you'll see this is how ALL major media broadcasting works and there are very few local broadcasts that aren't owned by a major corporation somewhere up the ladder. There are 6 maybe even less 'heads of the table' in ALL of major media. That's hundreds upon hundreds of studios owned by a handful of conglomerates. This equates to hundreds upon hundreds of different flavors of the same information being fed to you, which gives you some kind of false representation of corroborated information. The news is no different. I don't know if the news was ever really dreamed up to be an outlet for truly providing unbiased information because for as long as I could remember people on the news were giving you what appeared to unbiased information followed by news talk shows where they then give their opinions on it. So yea, a handful of fuckers have been brainwashing the world.

In democracy, minorities have no rights. You lose by one vote, you lose. In a Constitutional Republic, everyone is protected under the rule of the law, by democratically elected representatives. Read the federalist papers to understand why this system was chose by the founding fathers.

While I disagree on dismissing someone for saying something, but when you work at some place, it is their rules, within the law, and the law says your employer has standards and expectations, within the law.
