Western Social Media and Western culture is perhaps the most influential.
The biggest actors, actresses, performers, all seem to either be from America, or seem to flock to America.
Look at how Dwyane Johnson has managed to completely takeover not only America’s audience, but how he’s become such a large celebrity in Asia / China particularly. He often makes social media posts on Instagram to personally thank his Chinese fans, and his newest movie was to highlight Chinese culture.

西方社会媒体和西方文化可能是最具影响力的。最着名的演员和表演者貌似都来自美国或者涌向美国。比如巨石强森不仅成功征服了美国观众，在亚洲和中国也极受欢迎。他经常在INS上感谢中国粉丝，而他最新的电影将突出中国文化。

With all this media attention, there’s no wonder that the West seems “better.”

所以有了这么多的媒体关注，难怪西方“更好”。



One aspect of Xi Jinping’s “Made-in 2025” plan is to not only boost the economy, but to also bring the entire country back to its former glory, and not live under the shadow of the “better” West.

中国制造2025的目标之一不仅是促进经济发展，也是为了复兴往日的荣耀，不再生活在“更好”西方的阴影下。

This is a very interesting question which I really want to answer.
But I don't know where to start. So I just write down what I am thinking exactly now.
Me, who was very Pro -West before, specially Scandinavian countries. I adore them with all the aspects when I read about them in China, until I went there, learned the language, got deeper understanding in their daily life, mindsets, family structure etc…

这个问题很有意思，我很想回答一下。但是我不知道从哪里开始，所以想到哪里就写到哪里吧。我以前是非常亲西方的，尤其是北欧国家。在中国看到的有关这些国家的新闻都是好的，直到我自己去了那里，学习了那里的语言，更加了解了他们的日常生活，心态和家庭结构等等。

I must “borrow” a quote from Meng Feifei (another Quoran) “ To truely know a country is not always a pleasant experience.”

What I found out?

Yes, Western countries do have safe food qualities, clean sky, pure air, wealth, good social welfare systems…

是的，西方国家确实有安全的食物质量，干净的天空，清洁的空气，财富，良好的社会福利系统。。。

But I have also seen, their lack of family values, alcoholism, less respect with the elders, too publicized sexualities, depression among youngsters, specially elders.

但是我也看到了他们缺乏家庭价值观，酗酒，对老人的敬意更少，太过公开化的性欲，年轻人的抑郁，特别是老年人的抑郁。



Now he borrowed a lot of money on the tiny apartment where he lives with his Thai wife, he will never get rid of the debt since his Thai wife must send a lot of money back to her family in Thailand each month.

现在他借钱买了个小公寓，和泰国妻子一起生活，他永远都不可能摆脱债务，因为他的泰国妻子必须每个月给家人寄一大笔钱。

My friend has two beautiful girls who were often overnighted with me when the mother worked or went for a date.

我的朋友有两个漂亮的女儿，当她去工作或者约会时，她的两个女儿就和我过夜。

My woman friend got these two girls with two different men, but she lives alone with these girls. Each girls has two weeks here and there with their respective biological father.
The grandparents do love this two girls. But they just come for a visit around Christmas or birthdays.

这两个女儿是和不同的两个男人生下的，但是她和女儿单独居住。然后女儿每个月各自和亲身父亲居住两周时间。祖父母很喜欢这两个女孩，但是只有圣诞节或者生日的时候才来看他们。



I just want to share a little story.
No intention to hurt anyone.
No intention to start a competition.
There are many lovely families in Western countries too.
And there are many tragic families in China as well.

当然，这只是我自己的一些小故事，没有任何恶意。西方也有很多有爱的家庭，中国也有很多悲剧的家庭。
