Dating scene in Japan

Here’s what I’ve gathered being a (on-and-off)single foreign Asian lady here in Japan for more than 3 years;

日本的约会交往。先声明一下，这不适用于所有男性。
作为一个时不时单身的外国亚洲女性，我在日本居住了三年多了，以下是我的体验；

Most men in Japan (I don’t mean just Japanesemen) cannot be trusted; I have read stories of how married/attached men leaddouble/trip lives outside of their own. It is an unofficial green-light toinfidelity. I have ex-colleagues (foreign men with Japanese wives) sleeping orhaving an affair with their Japanese teachers. (Also speaking from experience,an online dating guy I chatted with turned out to be my colleague and,‘surprise, surprise’, he already has a girlfriend).

在日本的大部分男人（不仅仅是日本男人）不能信任；我听说一些已婚或者有女朋友的男人在外面拈花惹草，我以前的一些同事（他们是外国男人，和日本女人结婚）和他们的日语老师睡觉或者搞婚外情。还有我自己的一个经历，我通过网络约会认识了一个男人，后来发现竟然是我同事，而他已经有了女朋友。



Tourists who just want to getlaid to “make my trip so much better”.
[Updated] Japanese men aren’t known to becommunicative. They have many generations of inbuilt concept of ‘women are bornto make me bento and clean my house, and lie down straight only for my ownpleasure. Oh! And one more thing, you are not only marrying me but my mom too.’I’m sure the generations are changing but somehow, there are a lot of foreign femalefriends I know have been telling me these horror stories.

日本男人一般不擅长交流。他们有根深蒂固的想法，认为女人天生就是给我做便当和打理房屋的，并且躺在那里供我们取乐。还有，你不仅是嫁给我，而且还是嫁给我妈。我知道这种情况正在改变，但是我的很多外国女性朋友还依然在经历着这些可怕的事情。

Chivalry is an endangered trait. (I have tocomically remind my students not to be an a-hole)
P.S. When I mentionedgaijins, I don’t imply a certain race.
P.P.S. I sincerely apologize if my answertriggered or offended anybody. It was something I feel like sharing about thedark side of dating in Japan, they are either my own experiences or sweetstrong awesome ladies I’ve met that told me over coffee or a meal or at work.

Japan seems to have very strict anti pollutionlaws but these do not cover noise pollution.
For a country that considers it completelyforbidden to talk loudly on the phone when you are riding the train I find itbizarre that they have trucks making so much racket.
Good-luck trying to sleep-in if you planninghaving a nice relaxing holiday in Japan….

日本有非常严格的反污染法，但是并没有涵盖噪音污染。日本禁止人们在坐火车的时候大声讲电话，可是这些卡车却可以发出那么大的噪音，这让我觉得很奇葩。如果你计划在日本度过美好放松的假期，那么祝你好运可以睡一个好觉。
