The badly decomposed bodies of 11 infants were found in the ceiling of a former funeral home in Detroit police said Friday.

The remains were found late Friday afternoon by state investigators just hours after they received an anonymous letter explaining how to find the bodies carefully hidden inside the false ceiling Detroit police said.

The bodies had been hidden inside the former Cantrell Funeral Home. The funeral home was closed by state authorities in April after they found numerous violations of state law.

After the infants' bodies were uncovered Michigan State Police used a cadaver-trained police dog to search the entire building but no additional bodies were found said Detroit police Lt. Brian Bowser.

Earlier this year APRIL 2018 The funeral home was closed after failing inspections. The inspectors found two bodies in advanced stages of decomposition and covered with mold in the funeral home. Another body had unknown fluids covering its face. They also found improperly stored embalmed bodies in an unrefrigerated garage.

A funeral director once told me that the business is falling off since many people no longer see the value of expensive burials. Personally when I hear about funeral costs and people buying insurance to cover the “ final expense” it makes me ill. What a racket it’s become.

This is disturbing....I have no idea why a funeral home would want to keep the remains of babies. I know quite a few funeral directors and they have all said it's very upsetting to have to do a call on a deceased baby toddler child teen or young adult. I can't imagine why this happened. And a word of advice for everyone....I know it's hard to stay at the gravesite when your loved one is being lowered into the ground but someone should always stay until the vault is sealed. This will give you peace in knowing your loved one is in their casket and is safe....my brother was a funeral director and I remember a lot of pointers he gave us before he himself passed away.

Only 11? That's dozens less than are found in the trash can of any abortion clinic. At least the 11 at the funeral home died on their own before being brought there.
