It’s that time of year again. I’ve beenwaiting for this month for a year now, after spending so much time in china(which I love living in), life is great! The food is delicious, peopleone-on-one in china are some of the nicest I’ve met, the convenience of doingpretty much anything on your phone is wonderful (you can order one of thosegiant hinckley springs bottles off of WeChat and get it delivered to your housein like, 15 minutes), I love the public transportation, and the comforts ofhome are here too!(like Starbucks, KFC, western food in general) But now it’stime to go home for a month. The anticipation of seeing old friends, Mexicanfood, all the CULVERS CHEESE CURDS I WANT is killing me! I couldn’t be more excitedto eat cheese and tell of all the experiences of a world they don’t know.

又到了一年中的那个时候。我等待这个月已经等了一年，在中国住了这么长时间（我很喜欢住在中国），生活很棒！食物很美味，中国人是我见过的最友好的人，手机带来的便利生活真是太棒了（微信上下单，15分钟送达），我喜欢那里的公共交通，还有家的感觉（比如星巴克，开封菜，西方食物等等），但现在要回国一个月了。想到可以见到老朋友，吃墨西哥食物，以及所有想吃的奶酪，真是好激动！想到可以一边吃奶酪一边向亲朋好友们诉说我在中国的经历，我就非常激动。


我是这么对他们说的。

“是，但是她们应该更加美国化才对”
坦白说，我都感觉无法和这样的人讲道理。我会对他们说你可以自己去当一回移民看看，但是我认为他们无法理解移民所需要面对的勤奋工作，思乡，因语言不同而与当地人的交流不畅等等问题。

In general they’re humans just like peopleare in the western world. They have the same emotions we do, same ability toreason right from wrong, they have to work and pay their bills too, they havethe same stresses and worries. And I feel that western media has detachedpeople from that understanding. As far as the average ignorant person isconcerned, they’re just “the weird people over there”, when in reality, I’venever felt more welcome and comfortable in a new home anywhere! SOOO manypeople have invited me to dinner as a “welcome to china”, people are prettypatient with the language barrier and try to help you out anywhere you go(yesterday a lady tried to help me in a restaurant with out me asking eventhough I’ve been there before.) their willingness to help is wonderful. (Ihaven’t seen a whole lot of that in the states )

大体上他们和西方人没有差别。他们也有同样的情感，同样的辨别是非的能力，他们得工作养家糊口，他们有同样的压力和担忧。而我感觉西方媒体让人们脱离了这种理解。一些无知的普通人会认为中国人好奇葩。可现实是我从未在一个新国家感觉到这么多的欢迎的温暖！有那么多人邀请我去吃饭，说欢迎你来中国，人们也相当耐心的克服语言障碍，努力的帮助你（昨天一个女士在餐馆里主动要帮助我，虽然我没有主动要求帮助），他们的乐于助人真的很棒。在美国就不怎么常见了。

Sure china and America have some bigcultural differences, but they’re more similar than they’d like to admit too.It just takes a person who says “screw the stereotypes, I’m going to go see formyself” to figure that out.

当然，中美有一些巨大的文化差异，但是二者的相似之处其实也很多，只不过有些人不想承认罢了。只有摒弃刻板印象，自己去一探究竟，才能真正了解。



在西方文化中，政府的存在是为人民服务的，而且生来邪恶，因此必须遭受鄙视和不信任。
但是中国人可不这么看待政府和人民之间的关系。
