To start with, China has been a traditional friend and supporter for many African liberation movements, providing military training and weapons etc. This partnership has continued in the post independence era, with China being the major development partner in civil engineering, industrial and building infrastructure.

首先，中国是非洲许多解放运动的传统朋友和支持者，中国为他们提供军事训练和武器等。这种伙伴关系在运动组织独立后仍在继续，中国是非洲在土木工程、工业和基础设施建设方面的主要发展伙伴。

The Chinese have successfully penetrated the African market because of their low cost products which are quite affordable to most people in Africa. Also, their unconditional support and non-interference in political matters has endeared them to most African governments, unlike the USA which prescribes gay rights, freedom of speech and democracy as conditions for partnership and aid. But Americans are hypocrites and selective because they apply double standards depending on who you are - for example, they don’t have conditions for Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates etc because they are benefiting from oil. And these are countries with some of the worst human rights violations. Due to these double standards, it’s difficult to trust the USA, they don’t have permanent friends, but only permanent interests. Once they are done with you, they will bring out a whole lot of issues as in the case of Saddam Hussein.

中国人靠着低廉的产品价格成功地打入了非洲市场，非洲的大多数人都能买得起。此外，他们对非洲政府无条件的支持和对政治事务的不干涉原则使他们受到大多数非洲政府的喜爱，而美国的援助总是带有如言论自由，民主等等的附加条件。

In Africa, most young people grew up watching Chinese Kung Fu movies. Martial Arts stars such as Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and movies such as Fist of Fury, Shaolin Temple, Drunken Master etc were very common back in the days.

In this era, most people have a chance to interact with the Chinese face to face, thanks to Chinese malls which are found in most African countries such as Namibia, Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania etc.

Generally, the Chinese are friendly and reliable business partners. They are humble, creative and willing to negotiate deals. The Indians have been operating in Africa for a much longer time than the Chinese, but they have been outnumbered by a large margin. Chinese shops are everywhere, their products are affordable and the customer service is excellent.

总的来说，中国人是友好可靠的商业伙伴。他们谦虚、有创造力，愿意协商交易。印度人在非洲经营的时间比中国人长得多，但在盈利方面远远不如中国人。中国的商店随处可见，他们的产品物美价廉，顾客服务也很好。

What we believe and know about Chinese is:
They are a willing partner in commerce. Where deals can be struck without being lectured to as to what to do with our countries in return.
They do what they say they’re going to do. No room for double speech.
They deliver on time and on budget
They are efficient and relentless
They love stability in foreign relations rather than instability.
They are pragmatic and believe in real politik
They dont hide their true intentions and the fact that they are motivated by self interest. A desireable quality, as you always know where you stand with them.
This is what we think of the Chinese in general.

我们对中国人的了解是:
他们是我们愿意合作的商业伙伴。与中国人的交易总是可以达成，而无需用我们的国家利益作为回报。
他们说到做到。没有二话。
他们按时、按预算交货，他们高效而近乎无情

他们喜欢外交关系的稳定，而不是不稳定。

Africa is huge, so keep in mind that different regions think differently. I am Somali, and so is my family. I think being born in the U.S might make me think differently though. I’ll my best to answer, but I think someone who was born there might answer better.

Somali’s are natural traders. My mother would go to China for business trips, normally it would happen three times a year. In terms of business, we don’t care. Growing up in the U.S people would joke about the low quality of Chinese products. My mother didn’t care at all, she just wanted her money. She’s never had any negative to say about it.

索马里人是天生的商人。我妈妈总是会去中国出差，通常一年三次。我在美国长大。美国人总会拿中国产品的低质量开玩笑。而我妈妈根本不在乎，她只想赚钱。她从来没有说过任何关于中国产品负面的话。

In the contrary she enjoys herself when she’s in China. She always tells the story of how the first thing she ate in a Chinese restaurant was white rice and hot water. To a Somali, white rice is the equivalent to stale white bread. She couldn’t eat the rice, but now she drinks hot water all the time.

相反，她在中国玩得很开心。她总是讲她在中餐馆吃的第一道菜是白米饭和热水的故事。对索马里人来说，白米的味道就相当于变味的白面包。她不习惯吃米饭，但现在她却养成了一直喝热水的习惯。

I have asked people and many Somali’s are OK with the Chinese.

Most people have limited interactions with China. I have never seen hatred or animosity to a Chinese person before. As long as you are respectful of Somali culture and the Islamic faith you’ll be OK. Overall not many Somali’s have had little cultural interactions with the Chinese. Your average Somali might not know a lot about China.

As an Arab from North Africa with African roots, I have a great respect for the Chinese people, I'm impressed by the progress made by the country, and I consider it a natural result due to the Chinese culture.

Although I'm not an atheist like the majority of Chineses, I respect and love them, because they are an ocean of wisdom, in addition of being extremely smart, the Chinese people have also morals and goodwill, it's very difficult to gather all those properties at the same time.
I appreciate the fact that Chinese people take care of their parents and respect them a lot

A lot of people accuse China of copying all western technologies, and imitating the west without creativity, but I do not share this view.China now is like a baby， until becoming a full grown man who creates and innovates.

China will become that man very soon, and the world will be dazzeled by the chineses inventions and organization.

I respect China for offering lucrative win-win options to the African countries, unlike Europe
…which is sucking the blood of Africa and selling weapons to Africans to .....etc.

我还尊重中国为非洲国家提供有利可图的双赢选择，不像欧洲，为了吸血不停地卖武器给非洲人…

And the main reason why I love China, is the huge work done by the chineses people to excel in all domains, which vigorously surpassed the American money printers which couldn't print enough paper money to repay the chinese debt.

When I was young we used to associate them with fake products. We even have a “Chinese” name for fake products; “Chinku”. Even now, every fake thing in the streets, no matter where it came from is chinku.

Africans dont know much about China or Chinese. But they are starting to. Africa is still fascinated by the West mostly because of Western dominated media. However that is changing. What china is doing in Africa is tangible, people can see and feel. I am sure, in another decade or decade and a half, China will be considered an indisputable allie and freind no matter how much western misgivings and propaganda is spread .

China was on the side of the Africans and supported and aided Africa’s liberation. Now they are aiding Africa’s development because western colonialism left Africa void of the necessary skills for development. As an African American I think highly of the Chinese, they have been friends of Africa. Africa is my heart.

I think they have good work ethics and we should keep a good relationship with China
Chinese fake goods in SA we call it FongKong
In Zim Zhing Zhong but yet better than nothing. Our relationship with China is good mainly they don’t try to correct the way we live honestly I respect them for that.

Honestly when I saw a Chinese person the first thing on my mind was usually Martial art's. See al the Chinese karate and kungfu and that shaulin temple stuff I saw all Chinese people as people who can do anything. Later in life I realised there was more to Chinese people than Martial arts, I mean there language, art, architecture, entrepreneurship it make me view China as the perfect place on earth
