Can the USA become a third world country?

America today looks like a toilet worse than some of the worst corners of the world!
America has become a “toilet nation”—”an insult”, it used against other nations—to mock, and ridicule them and gloat over their misfortune—now, “hubris”, has made America fall to below the ground, into a bottomless pit!
Welcome to USA—another toilet country, full of corrupt and mentally-diseased politicians and deranged corporate CEOs who shall be remembered as idiots and fools—full of Hubris, who brought down America, just like Gorbachev (pizza-man) who brought down Russia—a reputation to remember in history!
Economic Wealth & Prosperity—Very low throughout USA!
America as of today looks like a developing country. It has people dressed in very poor and unfashionable clothing. Even the clothes are made from poor-quality material—as the Chinese have learned from Americans to sell their junk and garbage to America at high prices through outlets like Macy’s, Walmarts, Dicks, Targets, Amazons etc.
American people have no understanding on how to judge quality of cold weather and warm weather clothing or even cotton for instance. People think twice about inviting an American for any luxury or prestigious event—just like the world leaders laughing at the Trump-bandwagon.
Most American women are stressed and hence they look unattractive and they are unable to behave and express in a polite manner. They seem to lash out at parties and eventually get peered out of future invitations. Mostly, Americans have developed a reputation of being aggressively loud and vulgar—an undesirable trait, which makes them socially less-dominant. A strong power screams less and speaks less. A weak power struggles for attention and hence screams a lot more—thus, having lost the wolf-edge, the American bark is like a loud Chihuahua!
American roads, trains and buses smell like piss, urine and vomit. It is extremely unhygienic and the roads and bridges are full of homeless people, who have no place to go. These people and other people literally litter and excrete on the streets

Technically, yes and it’s very close. i say close because the distinction between first and third-world countries should be seen as a spectrum rather than a hard and fast separation. The definition of third-world I am about to introduce assumes requirements that can vary widely among any countries.
We seem to equate third-world countries with developing countries. I believe an acceptable definition of a developing country is: One that has yet to successfully implement one or more novel features widely across its population which are available to other countries (for example, indoor plumbing or nationwide electricity). Now we have access to both those things, as well as to pretty much any other tangible resource, so what are some things we’ve never successfully implemented as opposed to other first-world countries? By success I will accept it as gotten through at least two election cycles without majority disapproval or withdrawal. Here are some that come to mind, but ask and answer in your heads for yourselves too (maybe even ask yourselves if we have first-world qualities the rest of the world doesn’t. But sorry, American Freedom doesn’t count to me)

America IS a third world country, already.
There are PLENTY of ‘Third World’ countries around the world, that have a few rich folk living there..
Why would anyone think that America is any different?
The country, ruled by a complete and utter cretin, is definitely run on the same lines as any ‘Banana Republic’, whose President rules on a whim and nothing more.
The poverty stricken folk in America look much like the ones we all see on TV from Africa and elsewhere, to me.
And there’s MILLIONS of the poor sods.
TENS of millions are terrified of being ill.. because they know it could well mean going bankrupt.. and losing their home.
$1600 to even CALL for an ambulance???
Never mind the actual hospital bill.. the cost of which would buy a good sized house.
Tell me how that is much different to living in the favelas of Brazil or Africa, or anywhere else…

The misconception with the “three worlds” system is that people think countries are ranked in the three levels by development of countries. While there are trends within these levels (first worlds are traditionally more developed, third are less) it’s actually based on alignment in the cold war. 1st was western aligned, second was socialist, and third was the non-aligned movement.
With that being in mind, no, the US can’t become third world because it can’t change its history.

No, because we will do what we do whenever we are failing by some measure or definition: we will redefine it. Remember "Gross National Product"? We don't use that anymore. Or federal debt? It's usually reported as "federal debt as a percentage of GDP". People think the federal debt is shrinking, even as it keeps getting larger.
Given that first world was a term created by the US to describe the US, it also makes no sense that we would redefine it, because then there would be no meaning to the distinction.

We will not become a third world country ever because of the following:
1.Our Constitution: the single greatest document ever produced as the basis for a country.
2.Geography: Bounded by two oceans, inaccessible over land by hostile forces, no hostile entities can even get close
3.Military might: Worlds largest Air Force: the US Air Force. Second largest Air Force: the US Navy.
4.Enormous natural resources.
5.Large agricultural capacity.
6.Worlds largest and most successful economy.
7.Lots and lots of people scrambling to get ahead with wits, education, imagination, and the freedom to use these things.
8.We have Texas, and that is just ONE of the 50 states.
9.Second amendment: government is not afraid of own citizens.
10.Very strong tradition of belief in God, unlike secular Europe.
I could go on and on. We have problems like any large enterprise, but we will work them out. Witness the election of President Trump.
At any rate, as far as I can tell, Eurozone will be one big Islamic caliphate in another 10 years if you guys don’t change direction. Seems like you guys are the ones who need to worry about becoming third world.

USA is already a 3rd world nation where it matters and when compared to Europe (most nations are socialist and doing better than the USA), Japan, Canada and other wealthy nations. USA ranks much lower in education, medical care, safety, crime, killings, infant mortality rate (even Cuba has less), terrible infrastructure, wealth only goes to the top 2%, too many homeless etc The USA is a top nation when it comes to military, invading other nations and destroying it while their own people are suffering and becoming poor and one pay check away from been homeless.
An MIT economist says the US has regressed to a developing nation status
Look at this link about how different prisons are in different nations. The USA looks like most 3rd nations jails then look at those from Europe. Here is Spain our jails are similar to Norway or Sweden. We believe in helping them so they can go back into society. While the USA treats prisoners, regardless of their crimes, like animals
Marvin Dookharan,
Any country can by gaining a high infant mortality rate or high population growth.
The correlation between development and infant mortality rate is around r=-.9.
Seems like every country all around the world was undeveloped during the time-period when their infant mortality rate was high comparable to modern day undeveloped countries.
For the US it’s around the 1920s-1930s that the infant mortality rate was comparable to modern day undeveloped countries.
The majority of high developed/low infant mortality rate/low population growth countries would probably be full of problems if they had population growth comparable to undeveloped countries.
Obviously if you don’t have kids it’s automatically easier to become rich and obviously low population growth makes development-related stuff automatically easier.
So it seems like basically any country can become developed just by reducing the birth rate/infant mortality rate/population growth and also the opposite become undeveloped by increasing the birth rate/infant mortality rate/population growth.
Also many developed countries are experiencing population decline now headed towards extinction so if they want to survive they’ll have to increase their birth rate in the future.
Third world or undeveloped is the natural state, you don’t really need development for survival, the birth rate is supposed to be high for survival.

Not likely! The USA had a human development index of .915 just ahead of Canada’s .913 making it the 8th most developed country in the world, but U.S. had the highest GDP of any major economy at 57k some smaller economies like Hong Kong ranked higher but for comparison the U.K. GDP was 43K Canada 48k.
Also the system in place in U.S. gives more insenstives for advancements and development, much of high tech start ups are there along with medical equipment and many other areas.
Some more socialized economies it more of a case of pay yours taxes and the government will take care of you and your family, which doesn't lead to as much development!
