Three soldiers were killed when a tank slipped and plunged into a river during heavy rains following an annual firing drill in southern Taiwan, officials said Tuesday.

官员周二称在台湾南部年度的射击演练后一辆坦克暴雨期间滑进河里致死3名士兵。

The CM11 armoured vehicle carrying five soldiers was returning to camp in southern Pingtung county around 10:30 am (0230 GMT) after completing the firing test when it slipped from a bridge and fell upside down into the Wangsha river, the army said.

在完成射击演练后这辆CM11装甲车携带5名士兵回到屏东市的营地，突然从桥上滑入了王沙河，军队称。

The driver managed to escape with light injuries but four others were trapped inside the vehicle and showed no signs of life when they were rescued.

驾驶员成功逃脱，只患了点轻伤，而其他四人被困在车里，救出来时已经没有生命迹象。

The army initially said they were all killed but later revised the death toll to three as one soldier was revived after emergency treatment and was transferred to a military hospital in neighbouring Kaohsiung city.

起先军队称所有人都死了，后来将死亡数字改成3个，因为其中一个在紧急治疗后复活过来了，并被转移到了附近高雄的军事医院。

They're not gonna scare anyone with M60s. Not that I'm for arming everyone and their mother nefariously... but if we're gonna sell them #$%$ for their self defense, can we at least sell them modern equipment? That's just shameless to sell them tanks and boats you know stand almost no chance in a fight against Mainland China's half-modern military forces. Like.. imagine the difference 100 M1 Abrams and as few #$%$ modern attack submarines would be.. which is less than what we're willing to sell to someone like Saudi Arabia or Egypt who could easily be our enemy, next year.
Yes, China would get #$%$ about it but then they wont [be able to] do a damn thing and whatever plan they had against Taiwan would simply be delayed 20 more years. A generation of peace achieved. That makes more sense to me than directly* #$%$ them off with provocative moves with our own assets in the region.

M60能吓走谁吖。并不是说我赞成武装他人，但是如果你要卖武器给别人进行自卫，至少能不能卖点好的给他们吖？明知道卖给他们的坦克和船只根本无法抵抗大陆半现代化军事力量的情况下还卖给他们，真的很无耻。如果能卖给他们100辆M1坦克和一些现代的攻击潜艇，那就不一样了，即使如此，都还比不上我们卖给沙特或者埃及的，而这两个国家可以轻易的成为我们的敌人。
是的，这么做肯定会惹恼中国，但是他们能怎样，而且他们针对台湾的计划肯定又会被拖延个20年。相当于为一代人争取到了和平。在我看来，这比我们自己派军队去该地区惹怒他们来得更好。
