BEIJING — Top American and Chinese enforcement officials are negotiating how to fight the rampant trade in synthetic drugs manufactured here and blamed for a deadly wave of spiked opioids in the United States.

The DEA agreed to help train Chinese drug cops how to investigate money laundering and financial irregularities related to the trade in fentanyl and related synthetic opioids many of which remain legal in China. China's narcotics officials in turn agreed to possibly share evidence and tips with US officials on the trade which could lead to joint operations.

The talks also touched on emerging synthetic drugs — as Chinese chemical factories evolve to stay ahead of enforcement efforts — the export of precursor ingredients and pill presses used to make drugs and smuggling via freight forwarding companies.

While the US Government has not chosen to outright kill every offender arrested for a drug related crime the uber-criminalization mindset and subsequent penalties that go along with drug related arrests plus this fairy tale belief that it's actually possible to entirely stop the flow of drugs into/around our country has only further aided in the significant and horrific addiction epidemic that has gripped our society since roughly the mid to late 1960's. Due to a severe lack of intelligence in the overall world population it is only now being realized by the masses after roughly 4-5 years of meanstream media spoon feeding it to everyone but to those whom do not live under a giant freaking rock the ghastly addiction problem (and furthermore the overall mental health crisis) has been evident for nearly 50+ years now. Those aren't fentanyl pills. Those are oxycodone 30 mg made by Mallixrodt fentanyl pills are not easily obtained in the US and they typically come in buccal tablets. I'm a pharmacist. Not to complain about semantics but this would be like talking about car accident deaths and showing a vespa.

Yet we don't blame the person taking the drugs. Is somebody forcing the addict to take these drugs? If there is a demand there will be a supply! All drug suppliers complice doctors and big pharma no matter where located are responding to that demand. Just as the U.S. sells weapons used to kill through out the world the demand is there. That doesn't make it good but human nature is very hard to change. We have to learn how to change the human behavior of self destruction. Please let me know when you find out. Or possibly look at Portugal for answers. People say good things are happening over there in the drug abuse world.
