Vietnam is not an inferior version of Chinaand should never be considered so. Vietnam stands tall as a sovereign nationand its citizens speak Vietnamese not Mandarin as their native language. Thecultural and historical differences between China and Vietnam are remarkable. Yes,its true that Vietnam does not have over a billion people living there likeChina does and it’s much smaller in territorial size compared to its brotherlyneighbor, but that should in no way infer a lowly status for the good people ofVietnam.



越南不是中国的劣化版，绝对不应该这样认为。越南是一个有着独立自主权利的主权国家。越南的公民说的是越南话，不是普通话。中国和越南之间的文化历史差异是非常显着的。没错！同中国相比，越南确实没有十多亿的人口。与中国比起来，越南的领土面积要小得多。但是越南人民是非常善良的，因为前面提到的那些差距，并不能就把越南放在一个比较低的位置上。

Those involved in the strategem werealso US-based military defense companies, who sought to expand business dealswith the Vietnam Defense Department. I recall a few years ago on my Linkedin,Social Media account, a sales representative for the defense company ofNorthrup Grumman was highlighting Vietnam as an “emerging ally” for the US.

He issued the statement shortly beforeHanoi and Beijing were embroiled in a dispute over territorial claims in theSouth China Sea. After carefully reviewing the article, itmakes no mention of Vietnam here, which could lead to some suspicions.Nevertheless, every sovereign nation has the right to build a strong defense.Hanoi also deserves the opportunity to make allies with whomever it chooses.

But my bigger concern is that the Pentagonwould consider Vietnam as an “emerging ally.” Should Washington really trustHanoi with its military technology secrets and partnerships? If I had to play arole on the decision-making, I would advise against it. Yet, this should notinfer that I harbor ill-intent towards Vietnam. I’m just saying that Washingtonshould only make defense partnerships with its real allies, not those claimingto be “emerging allies.” An alliance would infer that if war breaks out thenallies are required to defend each other.

Vietnam is a strong nation and willmaintain close ties with China, but that would help the nation’s economy expandbigger and better. Many people have told me that the Vietnamese are some of thenicest people you will meet in the world, while there are plenty of beautifulscenic spots for tourists to visit. Some day, I would like to visit Vietnam fora vacation trip, take my family along so we can meet the lovely people there.

Oh no. China was pretty screwed up under ……,but Chinese people were resilient and quickly recovered under the rightleadership. Vietnam people are hard working and resilient too. I expect Vietnamto catch up soon. One good thing that Vietnam has is her culture proximity withChina, so much of the lesson China learned in her development is applicable toVietnam. China always says that other nations should not copy China’sdevelopment model blindly, but find their own culturally appropriate ways. Ithink they are right in general, but China’s development model is very relevantto Vietnam because of the aforementioned culture proximity.

绝对不是，有一段时间, 中国处在一个非常糟糕的状况。但是在正确的领导下, 中国逐渐开始恢复活力，恢复元气。越南人民也是很勤劳的，很有韧性，我觉得越南很快就会赶上来。越南有一个非常有利的因素，那就是他的文化与中国非常接近，中国的很多发展的经验都可以被越南直接的借鉴。对于很多国家来说，不应该随便模仿中国的发展模式的，而是应该要根据自己的条件，因地制宜。但是，因为越南与中国存在的这种先天性的联系，所以使得中国的发展模式与越南的发展之间产生了非常大的关联。

Vietnam is not another version, let aloneinferior to China. You can’t say a country is inferior to another country.China was invaded by other countries many times in the past but we still cantsay that they are inferior versions of Mongolia or Japan. Vietnam has a fardifferent culture than China but was influenced heavily by China. That’snatural because China has been a super power from ancient time.

越南并不是中国的另外一个版本。更不用说是低配版的中国了。你不能说一个国家比另外一个国家更低级。在历史上，中国被其他的国家所入侵，我们不能说中国是低配版的蒙古或者是低配版的日本。越南在文化上和中国之间有非常大的区别，当然也受到中国文化很大的影响。这非常自然，因为从古代开始，中国就已经是一个超级大国了。

Vietnam is a mix of 2 countries: Dai Vietand Champa.
Dai Viet was like a southern province ofChina, culturally part of the Sinosphere with a phenotype similar to other EastAsians. Compared to the rest of the world they were very advanced. The Champaon the other hand was not part of the Sinosphere and had similar phenotype andculture to its Austronesian neighbors.Dai Viet conquered Champa, imposes itsculture and became the modern Vietnam.I think that's all, “superior” or “inferior”you decide...
