Sure if America was stupid enough to try and invade China.

They might just barely be able to Fight the US to a draw 。。should hostilities resume in North Korea (presuming China joined the war on the NK side again this is by no means a foregone conclusion that they would) or if the dispute over whether Taiwan was an independent country or part of China turned into a shooting war.

It depends on what they are fighting about. If the US was determined at any cost to stop China’s current military build up in the South China Sea or force them off the Diaoyu Islands or prevent an invasion of Taiwan or set up shop and occupy North Korea…well there really isn’t much China can do about it except initiate a suicidal nuclear war. Any kind of war that’s actually conceivable between these two countries in the next 15–20 years ends very very badly for China.

If those are the victory conditions then yes China can defeat America in a war.

Okay now a war between China and the USA would end up in a pyrrhic victory for both sides… and for the record a pyrrhic victory is one in which the winning army loses most of its army defeating its opposition. And as a result of This it would lose the next battle and the war.

Alone china cant defeat US however both nation will be destroyed by each other but china will suffer more.

But if there's a war between China & US and both are supported by different nations then obviously US will lose the reason is because China has a strong supporter like Russia N korea pakistan whereas US has enemy more than its allies and US can be supported by India Israel UK france whereas some of the enemy nation of US from Arab will directly or indirectly support against US and they have a more wealth to expand in a war.

Let me spell out the obvious any war between powers like China and America will almost certainly go nuclear and when that happens we will reset to the stone age.

Neither could really win. China simply does not have the Naval Strength to defeat the US Navy and attack the United States. Likewise the US would not be able to support a landing in mainland China. It would be a stalemate using conventional weapons and if it progressed to nuclear weapons then that would simply be the end of civilization as we know it and possibly the end of all life on earth.

US is the most powerful country on the earth there’s no reason for Chinese to be first one to pull the trigger unless the US started a war or helped Taiwan to get independency.

Even though Chinese-US casualty ratio was 7:1 US didn’t win in Korea peninsula when China just finished civil war and was extremely poor and undeveloped that couldn’t even make mortar.

There would be a lot of factor involved in such a conflict and quite honestly depending on venue logistics and nuclear use or not the variables are impossible to predict The Planning and Tactics people in the Pentagon have a full time job trying to determine how such a conflict would go where it would happen and what would be the possible outcomes. Way over my pay grade.
