SINGAPORE/BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinese oil buyers will keep taking crude from the United States through September, but plan to reduce future purchases to avoid a likely import tariff amid a trade spat between the world's two largest economies, multiple industry sources said.

中国原油买家会继续购买美国石油直到九月份，但是计划减少未来的购买量以防两国贸易争端导致的进口关税，多个产业消息来源如是说。

Beijing has put U.S. energy products, including crude oil and refined products, on lists of goods that it will hit with import taxes in retaliation for similar moves by Washington.

北京已经将美国能源产品包括原油和精炼产品放在了进口关税黑名单上以报复美国的类似措施。

Beijing did not specify when it will impose a 25 percent tax on oil, and that gives buyers time to adjust purchases while waiting for the outcome of trade talks, the sources said.

北京没有详细说明什么时候会对石油征收25%关税，所以给了买家调整的时间，同时等待贸易谈判结果，消息人士称。

what china will not buy from the united states...the united states will either sell to other countrys or use it ourselves...saving us the hassle to import from others...we can use our own endless supply....

So, in essence, what this should mean is that the U.S. will have a greater quantity of U.S. crude for our own consumption thus lowering the price at the pump for all Americans and reducing our foreign crude imports at the same time. It's a win-win for the U.S. economy and all citizens. What most Americans don't realize is the fact the U.S. is the WORLD's third largest oil produce and the largest natural gas producer and the 10th overall oil exporter while being one of the largest importers of foreign crude.

Actually, this isn't bad. Either the excess oil will stay here, increasing domestic supply and lowering gas prices or we find someone else to sell the oil to and nothing changes.

I can't help but ask, if we the U.S. import so much oil, WHY are we exporting some of it to china? I know the chinese aren't dumb, why would they buy it from us at a marked up price rather than straight from the source? That makes this a useless topic. Stop exporting ANY/ALL of our oil.
