This is written by an 8th grader so things might be a little biased.
Before I came to the USA, I believed, mainly because of my parents and education, that USA was a great country and everything is better there.
This thought will hold true for another year after I came to the USA.
Then I had a thought. What made USA so great? I started researching and learned about its history, politics, and things like that(at least, part of it); and really, I realized how great China is, compared to USA.
The Chinese government get things done(at least some of it) while in the USA, whenever a Republican comes up of something, Democrats say “BOO!!!!!!” and it is the same with Democrats, which really means nothing gets done.
Transportation. In most major cities in China, there is a cheap subway system which everybody can, and will, use. USA, on the other hand, have crappy subways that no one really uses.
Transportation #2 Inter-city travel is also way simpler. Train travel in China is way better. If you want cheap price, a train from Shanghai to Nanjing can cost just 46.5 Yuan. And for quickness, a train from Shanghai to Nanjing can get there in 1.5 hours. In USA, train travel is very inconvenient, and the only options are either car or plane.
Cheapness. As an 8th grader, in terms of snacks and drinks, you can just buy so much more in China compared to USA.
Pollution. Even though China is known for pollution, considering its sheer numbers in homo sapiens, it is actually doing much better than the USA. And China is improving on its pollution while the USA just quit the Paris climate agreement.
While Chinese media makes other countries sound better, USA media constantly make China sound bad with the “communist” nonsense. It’s like China owes them something even though USA is the one who owes 1.1 trillion debt to the PRC.
And yeah. That is all I can think of for now.

廉价。以八年级学生的钱包来衡量，在中国可以买到比美国多得多的零食和饮料。

污染。尽管中国在环境污染方面很出名，但考虑到它的绝对人口数量，中国实际上做的比美国好得多。而且中国在污染问题上一直在改善，而美国刚刚退出巴黎气候协定。
中国媒体会把其他国家往好的方面报道，而美国媒体总是用“共产主义”之类的废话来抹黑中国。听起来就像中国欠了美国钱一样，而实际上美国才是欠债的一方，它欠了中国1.1万亿。

Some background about me. I was born and grew up in the three cities in China, Beijing, Shanghai and Tianjin until 25. I moved to Canada in 1999. Attracted to my friends’ party life in China and bored of life in Vancouver, BC, I decided to move back to China in 2006. Spent a few years in Beijing and Shanghai, I moved to Singapore for a year, and Bay Area California for another year, then sent back to China again by my then company in 2014.
As an ordinary person who focus most my energy in career, fun, and food, I didn’t give much of a thought about “communists rule”. There wasn’t any blocking of websites or censorship in 2006. All of these things happened under president Hu when terrorists attack became more of a threat to our daily life and somehow heightened international antagonism that the Chinese were confronted since 2008 (note it doesn’t mean there was no antagonism or terrorism in the past, just more felt even without actively looking, at least I felt that way). Another influencer was the rise of Weibo (micro blog). Weibo is the primary venue for Chinese to bitch about politics and public policies. My view on CCP fluctuated along with what media I was consuming at that moment.
In 2006 I was mildly amazed by the progress China made since 1999. It spelled out prosperity. Everyone seemed to have multiple opportunities for them to choose at any given time. When I was holding a job as headhunter, it was easy to find a client, as so many companies are hiring. We have the thing called client screening, because we couldn’t handle all the hiring cases we had to screen out those less profitable or too much hassle the case. Parties every weekend. Night club popped up everywhere in Beijing. I was happy in China. Did not think too much about the government.
Along came with Weibo. Man that amount of negativity in Weibo was unbearable. It could really work you up and made your blood boiling. Reading Weibo everyday, I felt like living in the brink of revolution. Injustice everywhere, judges were corrupted, journalists were persecuted, scholars were bought out, artists disappeared, ordinary people were beaten up on the street. I tended to believe all these, even though I never saw anyone was beaten up on the street, but I still believed it was true. I was acutely aware how oppressed the country was. Then, one incident happened that dawn to me, things are not always like the way described by the loudest voice on the internet who uses the most appealing words and says all the right thing. The incident dabbed as “Chaoyang Park East Gate Fighting Appointment”. One journalist invited a pro-government professor and lawyer to meet at Chaoyang Park east gate, Beijing. It was proposed as a debate, but when the professor arrived alone, the other side came along 20–30 people with cameras. Only 20 seconds into conversation, the female journalist took eggs from her pockets and threw them at his face, and then proceeded to physically assaulted him, simply because he was pro-CCP. She bragged about her assault online about how she kicked his crotch three times. Others cheered and filmed the whole incidence, saying it could won a Pulitzer award (let it sink for a second - Someone think beating up an unarmed person for disagreeing with you can win you a Pulitzer award. What will happen if these people are in power?). The professor took the beat without fighting back. He was later sent to the hospital by police.
This mob behavior raised in me a red flag about those so called anti-authoritarian pro-democracy camp. It is nothing short of culture revolution, where physical assault to those who holds different opinion was justified and praised. It is radicalization. However, not many people on Weibo callout the violence, the crowd on Weibo cheered. From then on I started to distant myself from Weibo and look at news on media with logic and rational thinking. See for myself what’s really happened around here. What I found out was one always have to take a second look about the news and commentaries on social media. For example, there were criticisms on a verdict of 10 years sentence of a young man who picked 17 bird eggs and sold for profit. The bird was falcon subbuteo, a subspecies of falcon which is a protected species. The social media portrayed the case as an ignorant young school boy who happened found bird’s egg at the backyard and sold without knowing it is prohibited. It cause angry netizens seriously questioning severity of China’s legal system and the integrity of the judge who handed out the verdict. However, if dig in, one would find out the culprit not only sell, but also put up an advertisement on Baidu offered to buy falcon subbuteo. This is not the only rare bird species he was targeting and this is not the first time he was conducting his illegal business.
After I decided not to blindly believe anything online about the outlandish stories about how ridiculous, ignorance and scary the governments’ conducts, I started to see the Chinese governments’ merit in a lot of decision making process and the public policies as a result. I still disagree and sometimes suspicious about many of the decisions came out of the governments, but I will give much more benefit of the doubt and admit that I don’t know a ton of context to judge just yet. I started to appreciate the complexity of making a public policy amidst incomplete information, with time constrain, pressure from the general public, history & legacy from the past, and the difficulty to assess the potential impact of many layers of its citizen, and general distrust from the general public, it is an impossible task which I cannot do. That’s how I think things differently, and see the current Chinese government as a mature and competent one, the right one, for now.

先介绍一下我的一些背景。我生于中国，在北京、上海和天津三个城市生活到25岁。1999年我搬到加拿大。2006年，我被朋友天天开趴体的生活所吸引，加之对温哥华的生活感到厌倦，所以决定迁回中国。我在北京和上海过了几年，之后在新加坡过了一年，又在加利福尼亚的湾区生活了一年，然后2014年再次被当时的公司派回中国。

作为一个普通人，我把大多数精力都用在职业、消遣和食物上，对于“共产主义者的统治”之类的事情我并没有想太多。2006年没有任何网络屏蔽或者审查。这些事情都是486时期出现的，当时恐怖袭击日益成为我们日常生活的威胁，而且从2008年开始中国人面临着某种程度上加剧了的国际对抗（请注意，并不是说以前就不存在对抗或者恐怖主义，只是当时不需要积极的寻找，就能更多的感觉到，至少我是这么认为的）。另一个影响因素是微博的崛起。微博是中国人臧否政治和公共政策的主要渠道。我对CCP的看法随着我当时接触到的媒体内容而发生波动。

之后微博出现了。我的天，在微博上负面信息多的要命，真的可以让人精疲力尽，又热血沸腾。我每天都刷微博，感觉自己生活在革命的边缘。每个地方都存在不公正，法官腐败，记者受到骚扰，学者们都被收买了，艺术家们都消失了，普通人在大街上被殴打。我觉得这些消息全都是可信的，虽然我从来没有看到谁在大街上被殴打，但我依然相信这些消息是真实的。当时我敏锐的认识到这个国家是多么的压抑。然后发生了一件事，让我醒悟过来：网上声音最大的人说的不一定就是真相，尽管他们用最吸引词句，说着一些“完全正确”的话。那件事就是“朝阳公园东门约架事件”。一位记者邀请一名支持政府的教授兼律师在北京朝阳公园东门见面。原本说好是一场辩论，但当这位教授一个人到达现场，另一方却出现了二三十个带着相机的人。对话只持续了20秒，这位女记者就从口袋里掏出鸡蛋，扔到他的脸上，然后开始殴打他，这一切仅仅因为他支持CCP。然后她在网上对这次攻击吹嘘不已，说她踢了对方胯下三次。其他人一边欢呼，一边拍摄了整起事件，他们说这个影片可以得普利策奖（我们想想吧，有些人仅仅因为对方与他意见不同，就去殴打那个手无寸铁的人，还觉得这种行为可以得普利策奖。如果这种人当权，会发生什么？）这位教授承受殴打，没有做出反击。之后他被警察送往医院。

这种暴徒行为给我亮起警灯，让我认识到那些所谓的“反对集权-支持民主”阵营的真面目。他们跟文哥没什么两样，他们为殴打意见不同者的行为做辩护，还称赞不已。这太激进了。然而，微博上却没有多少人对这种暴力行为提出批评，反而有很多人为之欢呼。从那时起，我就开始远离微博，并且带着逻辑和理性思维看待媒体新闻，用自己的眼睛去看待身边真正发生的事情。我发现，对于社交媒体上的新闻和评论都必须再三审视。例如，有一起某少年因偷盗17只鸟蛋并将其出售牟利而被判10年的案件，遭到很多人的批评。然而实际上那种鸟名叫燕隼，猎鹰的亚种，是一种保护动物。但社交媒体把这起案件包装成这样：一个无辜的年轻学校男孩，恰好在后院发现了这些鸟蛋，在不知道贩卖这些鸟蛋属于违法行为的情况下，他把鸟蛋卖掉了。结果导致愤怒的网民对中国法律系统的严厉程度以及做出判决的法官的正直提出严重质疑。然而如果深入调查，你就会发现这个罪犯不仅是出售燕隼，而且还在百度上发布了一则购买燕隼的广告。而且燕隼不是他瞄准的唯一一种稀有鸟类，这也不是他第一次进行非法交易。

当我决定不再盲目相信任何与政府行为有关的荒谬、无知和可怕的奇谈怪论后，我开始发现中国政府在诸多决策过程和公共政策方面的优点。对于出自政府的很多决定我依然不同意，有时候还会表示怀疑，但我会从怀疑中获得更多助益，并承认我尚未获得很多有助于判断的背景知识。我开始重视这种的复杂性，政府在信息不完全的情况下制定公共政策，存在时间上的限制，普通大众的压力，历史和过去的遗产，评估对公民的各个层面的潜在影响的难度，以及普通民众的普遍不信任，这是一项不可能完成的任务，我是无法做到的。这就是我对事情的不同看法，我认为目前的中国政府是一个成熟和有能力的政府，是一个正确的政府。

Take me as an example. Before going abroad, I really hated China full of corruption, bureaucracy and control. At that time, I had a super wonderful imagination about western countries. Then I decided to go to Canada, which was/is/will be described as a paradise full of fairness, kindness and fresh air. However, living in Canada for 5 years totally changed my thinking. Canada, hijacked by political correctness, really sucks. This country is really stupid and ridiculous as reasons below.
Anti-intelligence. Countless immigrants who used to be skilled workers such as teachers, professors, programmers, engineers, dentists and so on are forced to be general labors for a long term.
This country, with super high tax, reversely eliminates all diligent people.
This country, with an unlimited government, raises countless government staff with high salary while without doing anything. For example, a policeman/policewoman in Canada, with 80k salary per year, is seldom brave. Even sometimes, when you call them at night, they reply ‘shut up, I am sleeping’.
In this country, it is legal when a female kills a male, a specific racial person kills others, a person believing in some religions kills others, a LGBT kills others and so on. Currently, reverse discrimination is already full of this country.
Super low efficiency. When China is extending railways of high speed train outside the country, Canada has still not finished constructing a 1 kilometers railway of subway.
What is more, almost all western countries (maybe except the USA) is facing same troubles above. Then I gave up my worship to western countries. At that moment, I found that China made a super big progress, admiring CCP. So many western people have a big misunderstanding that CCP is left wing party. Actually, CCP already turns from left to right. China, with 1.4 billion populations, has to achieve democracy and freedom gradually. CCP is promoting the gradual process. So currently, I do admire and even worship CCP who should be learnt by other countries.
PS: I do believe that Israel is a superb country where democracy and efficiency are perfectly balanced.

以我为例。在出国前，我真的讨厌中国，讨厌它充斥着腐败、官僚主义和控制。当时，我对西方国家有种超级美妙的想象。然后我决定去加拿大，从过去到未来它都被描写成为一个天堂，充满了公平、友善和甜美的空气。然而，在加拿大生活5年后，我的想法完全变了。加拿大被政治正确绑架，真他妈烂。这个国家真是愚蠢又可笑，原因如下：

反智。无数曾经是技术工人的移民，如教师、教授，程序员，工程师，牙医等等，却被迫长期从事普通劳动。
这个国家税负超高，逆向淘汰所有勤奋的人。
这个国家的政府毫无限制，用高薪聘请无数的政府职员，那些人却无所事事。例如，加拿大的警察/女警每年可以拿8万的工资，却少有勇敢的警察。有时候你在夜间给他们打电话，他们甚至会回复说：“闭嘴，我在睡觉。”
在这个国家，女人杀害男人、特定民族的人杀害其他人、信仰某种宗教的人杀害其他人、LGBT杀害其他人等都是合法的。这个国家现在充斥着逆向歧视。
超级低效。当中国把高速铁路扩展到外国的时候，加拿大的地铁连一公里的铁轨都没有铺完。

此外，几乎所有的西方国家(可能美国要除外)都面临着同样的问题。然后我放弃了对西方国家的崇拜。在那一刻，我发现中国取得了巨大的进步，羡慕CCP。许多西方人都有一个很大的误解，认为CCP是左翼党。实际上，CCP已经从左转向右了。中国有14亿人口，必须逐步实现民主和自由。CCP正在推进这一渐进过程。所以现在，我真的很崇拜甚至崇拜CCP，他们是其他国家应该学习的。
PS：我真的觉得以色列是民主和效率达到完美平衡的一流国家。

Let me try to answer this from my own view.
I grow up in china until 18. Then lived in Singapore, US, Japan, Korea, Poland, indonesia, Australia for a minimum of one month. Besides, i’ve travelled to almost 20 countries including the above ones.
I would definitely give the communist party an A for ruling this country and made these acheivements. Comparing how life was in the 90s and now in china is absolutely stunning. With this kind of achievement, no other government on earth can match them over such large scare. Even compare to those smaller nations, the communist party isnt bad neither.
And definitely, just like every other nation, it comes with flaws and failures. Historically, the culture revo, 3 years lack of food (i guess?), 89 june event etc… are those major ones. Yet, even with those failures and faults, the country is still moving forward. This is a very important ability for any government who can self correct those mistakes.
The 2nd important ability which the communist party poses is to plan the future and carry out the plan. I dont see many other nations with such ability. This may not sounds important, but i personally consider it as the most important capability of any government. Despite the massive corruption and comflicts caused by the urbanisation, they have made almost half a billion peasants into the city and started industrialised the whole nation. This is also incredible.
With all the above achievements, any government should be able to score an A+! Well, the only major downside i could think of is the media control and brainwashing. I do mean it.
They know how weak are the general people’s mind. Instead of educating and using reasonable logic to strengthen it, they picked the most brutal and inefficient way. Not only control the media, the books, the everyday communication are all been controlled. We had the “great fire wall”, and that was not enough, there are something new coming. This isnt the right thing to do.
Sometimes, i really hope this will not be the 2nd time we lock up our country and fall behind in every possible way.

共产党掌握的第二个重要能力在于给未来制定计划并加以执行。我发现没有多少国家具备这种能力。它听起来也许无关紧要，但我个人认为这是一个政府应具备的最重要的能力。尽管存在很多腐败，以及城市化带来的纷扰，他们几乎让5亿农民进入城市，并开始实现整个国家的工业化。这也是难以置信的。

任何政府只要实现以上成就，都可以得个A+！好吧，我觉得唯一的主要不足是媒体控制和洗脑。我就是这么认为的。
他们知道普通人的思维是多么弱小。他们没有加以教育并采用合理的逻辑来加强它，反而选择最残酷和低效的方式。不仅控制媒体、书籍，日常交流也被控制了。我们有伟大的防火墙，而这还不够，还有一些新玩意即将出现。这不是正确的行事方式。

I can't generalize all Chinese people here in the US, but there are many who miss the convenience, safety, modern amenities and beauty of China they took for granted before. Many people had their mindset changed from "foreign countries are way better than China!" to "well, China is actually better in many places".
Among those people, some started to rethink the notion of western democracy and freedom, some still firmly hold the belief in "universal values".

我不能概括美国所有中国人的想法，但有很多人想念中国的舒适、安全、现代的人文气息和美丽之处，他们以前觉得这些都是理所当然。很多人的想法从“外国比中国好得多”变成“好吧，实际上中国在很多地方更好”。

I was born and lived in China until I was 25 before I came to study and work in Australia. Here is my experience.
Despite what I have been told by the media, I think the Chinese government is incredibly accountable and efficient. When Chinese government set a target for performance, there is over 95% of chance that it will achieve the target. Part of the reason is that the Chinese government is run by technocrats who are very good at analyzing data and make reasonable projections accordingly.
Chinese government is constructed upon the ruling of one party which means that there will be consistency when leadership changes, unlike some Western countries where the ruling party can treat policies from the previous administration as buttwipe, or even change the course of the country completely. Furthermore, Chinese government is able to make plans for five years, ten years, even twenty years forward and realize it step by step. This is something that is almost unimaginable for many countries that I have been to.
Once upon a time, I was one of the firm believers of democracy is everything that is good and will fix all problems of China. After I went abroad, I had realized that people in democratic countries in Europe and America faced the same problems that Chinese had faced. Democracy and voting power, direct or indirect, do not present a solution to the problems. When Chinese people are complaining that government officials are taking bribes from businessmen, American politicians are accepting millions of dollars of political donations from various organizations. In China, government officials who takes bribes could be investigated by the People’s Procuratorate and be arrested and serve jail sentence. In America, it is perfectly legal for politicians to take money from businesses in name of political donation. From then, I realized how truly wise Chinese government was that they decided not to follow blindly behind developed countries but to explore and create its own model for development instead. Many people would say that the ‘Chinese model’ stands for government controlled economy, state-owned enterprises and aggressive exportation. I think they are mistaken. The real Chinese model is to assess and analyze one’s own situation carefully, to learn from other’s successes and failures, and to use one’s own experience and wisdom to create its own path to the future.

我出生于中国，并在中国生活到25岁，之后我来澳大利亚求学和工作。这是我的经历。
尽管媒体一直跟我说一些话，我依然认为中国政府非常负责任而且有效率。当中国政府设定一个施政目标，95%的目标都可以实现。部分原因是中国政府是由技术官僚管理，他们非常擅长分析数据，并据此作出合理的预测。

中国政府建立在一党统治的基础上，这意味着当领导层发生变化，政策也是一致的，不像某些西方国家，执政党可以把前任政府的政策视为厕纸，甚至彻底改变国家的进程。还有，中国政府可以为未来五年、十年、甚至二十年制定计划，并一步一步的实现，这对我去过的许多国家来说几乎是不可想象的。

很久以前，我曾是民主的坚定信徒之一，我觉得它所有都是好的，可以解决中国的所有问题。当我出国后，我认识到欧洲和美国等民主国家的人面临着与中国同样的问题。民主制度和投票权，直接或间接，并不代表问题的解决途径。当中国人抱怨政府官员从商人那里获得贿赂时，美国政客也在从各种组织接受数以百万计的政治献金。中国接受贿赂的官员可能被人民检察院调查，被逮捕并服刑。而在美国，政客以政治献金的形式接受商人的钱财却是完全合法的。从那时起，我意识到中国政府的决定是多么明智，他们没有盲目的追随发达国家，而是发掘并创造自己的发展模式。许多人会说，“中国模式”代表着政府控制的经济、国有企业和激进的出口。我认为他们错了。真正的中国模式是仔细地评估和分析自己的处境，从别人的成功和失败中学习经验，用自己的经验和智慧去创造自己的未来之路。

I grew up, lived in China for more than 20 years and have been living in the U.S for almost 10 years. I think I am qualify to answer this question.
Before coming to the U.S:
Communism is bad
Chinese government brainwash us
Democracy is the destination of all mankind
Western countries are heaven.
After living in the U.S for almost 10 years:
China is not that bad and a lot better than the U.S in some aspects(Safety, convenience etc.).
I started to question if western media are brainwashing their people too. I don’t trust any media these days.
Comparing the two political system. The Chinese one is more consistent and have longer term vision. Leadership seems to be more experienced and knowledgeable (Compare to Trump … ).
I kinda understand why they block foreign social media now (not saying they should). This thought is from observing how U.S media (I changed this from “western media” to U.S media as my observation is mostly from watching American news and as some comment points out U.S media can’t represent western media) spreads misleading information about China, their own election …
The Chinese government believes in political reform and it seems to be working for them.
All in all, I think China is moving to the right direction and not blindly copying everything from the west. I respect both countries and hope China can prove that western democracy is not the only answer.

我开始质疑西方是否也在给他们的人洗脑。现在我不相信任何媒体。

对比两种政治制度，中国更加一致，着眼于更远的未来。领导阶层似乎更加经验丰富更有见识（与特朗普相比……）。
现在我有点理解为什么他们要封锁社交媒体了（并不是说他们应该这么干）。这种想法来源于对美国媒体的观察（我把西方媒体改成美国媒体，因为我的观察主要来自观看美国新闻，正如某些评论指出的那样，美国媒体不能代表西方媒体），他们传播了很多关于中国以及他们自己的大选等方面的误导信息。

而中国政府相信政治改革，而且似乎很管用。
总之，我觉得中国走在正确的方向上，没有盲目的照抄西方。我尊敬两个国家，希望中国可以证明西方民主并不是唯一的答案。

I was born and grown up in China until I was 16 when I came to Canada and have been living here for 10 years. So here’s my perspective:
One keyword: Media distortion (ok 2 words)
Before coming to Canada, western worlds are heaven, Chinese don’t have freedom, dictatorship is constraining us, no democracy, no humanity, etc. you get the picture.
After coming to Canada, sure there are good things, but one incident completely changed my thinking: 2008 beijing olympics: while 25,000 Chinese were cheering for the torch rally in LA, not a single camera shot was given to them. CNN spent 30 minutes interviewing 5 free tibet guys (2 whites, paid job?) talking about democracy, freedom, and all those buzz words in western media. I wouldn’t even know there were any Chinese supporters there for the torch rally in LA if I can’t read Chinese media.
YOU TELL ME WHO’S BRAINWASHING WHO?
From that point on, the more I watch the western media, the more I realized what a $h!t load of fxxx you guys are reading everyday, without even realizing it.
So before you start questioning us, you, or any westerners need to ask yourself: where did I learn about China? If the answer is any of: your news, media, any western paid advocates, early year immigrants(they are too deep into this western superiority thinking beyond help), you need to COMPLETELY ditch your early perspectives, (excuse me) shut the fxxx up, and listen to real Chinese.

我在中国出生并长大，直到16岁我来到加拿大，已经在这里生活了10年。以下是我的看法：
一个关键词：媒体扭曲（好吧，是两个）。

在来加拿大之前，我觉得西方世界就是天堂，中国人没有自由、独裁者在限制我们，没有自由，没有人道等等。你知道的。
来加拿大之后，当然有好的地方，但有件事彻底改变了我的想法：2008年北京奥运会，当2.5万中国人在洛杉矶庆祝火炬接力的时候，没有一个摄像机对准他们。CNN花了30分钟采访5个自由吐蕃的家伙（两个是白人，可能是拿钱的吧？），大谈民主、自由和所有西方媒体那些时髦词。如果我不看中国媒体的报道，我甚至不知道有中国的支持者在洛杉矶举办了火炬游行。

你跟我讲讲：谁在洗脑谁？
从那时候起，我看西方媒体越多，就越觉得你们每天看到的都是些什么狗屎啊？你们甚至意识不到。

所以在你开始向我们提问之前，你们，或者任何西方人需要问问你们自己：我是从哪里了解中国的？如果答案不外乎：你们的新闻、媒体、任何拿西方钱的支持者，早年的移民（他们在西方优越感的思维中陷得太深，无法自拔），那你就需要彻底摒弃你之前的看法，（除了我），并且闭嘴，听真正中国人的说法。

Before coming to US, I thought Chinese government was arrogant, deceptive, hypocritical, but the situation was getting better because people know the system needs change.
After coming to US, I found western governments much more arrogant, deceptive, hypocritical, and their situation is getting worse and worse because people think their systems are the best.

Four decade ago China was poorer and more miserable than India which was also another large and populated country. India adopted western style democracy while China implemented her own ad-hoc governing style. Today China is far ahead than India in almost every aspect except perhaps in certain contorted freedom. But in China there are only a couple thousand of those freedom weirdos. Therefore practically all Chinese in and out of China are proud of their country.

Well, let’s put it this way, the more I travel overseas, the more I like China.
Sure, China has many problems, but I think our goverment is doing a better job than most of the countries .
While other countries is debating over ideology, our goverment is working hard to improve people life.
In China, in order to become a government leader, you have to work your way up, step by step. Only those who proofed them worthy can get important positions in our political system. Our system won’t allow some hothead get elected because some vague promises, and our policy won’t be change so often just because our leaders has some elcetion promises to keep.

好吧，我要这么说，我在海外旅行的越多，我就越喜欢中国。
当然，中国有很多问题，但我认为我们的政府比大多数国家都干得好。
当其他国家在为意识形态而争论不休的时候，我们的政府在忙着改善人民的生活。

在中国，想要成为政府领导人，必须一步一步向上晋升。只有那些证明了自身价值的人，才能在我们的政治体系里获得重要的位置。我们的制度不会让某个急躁的家伙因为某些含糊不清的承诺而当选，而且我们的政策不会仅仅因为领导人要信守某些竞选承诺而发生如此频繁的改变。

Last year, I picked up a Chinese international student from the airport, who after 22hrs flight, caught a cold. Then it developed into a fever. She got well-treated in an UPMC hospital. A handsome doctor and a beautiful, warm-smiling nurse took care of her and she was cured within 4 hours. Afterwards, She told me "I love the American hospital. The Chinese hospitals are so bad.".
Two weeks later, She told me that the medical bill was 4000 US Dollar and said "I hate the American hospital. I just wanna go home.".
Sorry I forgot to mention that it was an emergency room visit.
