China has conducted military drills in preparation for an attack just days after North Korea tested its most powerful nuclear weapon to date and the U.S. answered with its own live-fire exercises in the tense region.

Would not surprise me if China is actually helping the North Koreans with every facet of it's nuclear program and they in fact are actually trying to test American response to the missile launches. China and the Russians are very unhappy about South Korea installing a THAAD missile system and are probably trying to quietly provoke a response from the U.S. where we utilize the system. They want to know it's true capabilities so they're getting N Korea to test random missile launches to see if the Americans will respond by shooting them down. Admittedly a high stakes game but N. Korea shooting a missile over Japan only shows they're willingness to test American resolve.

This is stupid. They have been building up along the NK border for over a year. It won't take much and they will roll across and take Kim out. He is not worth the aggravation to their banking and manufacturing. The NK generals won't attack China and they will give Kim up because they want to keep their jobs. China will install a puppet Gov and roll back. This has nothing to do with a surprise attack by the US.

It is in China's long-term self interest to stop the North Korean program as the reaction to it by other nations will hurt China. Already the reaction to the North Korean program has resulted in the anti-missile system installed in South Korea and Japan with the radar systems which compromise the Chinese strategic ability. Soon we may see a Japanese nuclear program which could quickly give them a nuclear capacity (they already have the missiles) something the Chinese would find unacceptable especially with their history. While controlling North Korea may bring China a lot of pain especially if it collapses failing to control them will bring them more pain.

Don't be naive China has always been the main ally and supported N.Korea from A to Z. They play game with the West that's all. Kim Jong Un is just a puppet from his big ally China. China wants to defeat US in Asia and uses N.Korea as their bait to lure American into a battle in Asia. N.Korea is too far for US to stay in war in long engagement. LD-2000 Gatling gun. We have got to quit showing the world what we have because all they do is copy. The LD-2000 is a 30 mm knock-off of Raytheon's 20 mm Phalanx. I know it's an old system but damn. On the other hand why don't you pull a standard UK ploy and make mockups of some truly poor weapons?
