In my country Colombia is ok to dress with little clothing no one makes a huge deal about it. We’re a tropical country you can’t walk around all covered up under 30 degrees can you?

Last year the Colombian cyclist female team designed this uniform for an international competition.
No one in Colombia thought anything other than their uniform is color gold.
As soon as they went to compete reporters from the US and the UK were absolutely horrified because they looked like they were naked.
Then a storm in twitter with “empowered” British and American women complaining about it claiming the Colombian women team is being used and exploited as sexual obxts.
Ironically this is the male team . (Of course UK and US reporters said nothing about them)
I supposed men cant be oppressed according to some morons in the Anglo-sphere!
IRONICALLY THE UNIFORM WAS DESIGNED BY THE FEMALE TEAM THEMSELVES!
This is how the BBC showed them
YES THE BBC!!!

There it’s perfectly acceptable to call women you don’t know “sweetheart” or “sweetie” or compliment them on their outfit or hairstyle. It isn’t considered flirting or sexist or demeaning… it’s just being polite.
I remember being at restaurants where every table had a family at it and every man of the family said things like “Can we get a round of tea for the table Sweetie” to the waitress. Then when she brought the tea it was “Thanks Sweetheart.”
That would be considered sexual harassment here in Chicago. You’d be asked to leave the restaurant if you weren’t slapped first.

Picking strangers' kids up and being affectionate.
Indian people do this all the time. Your grandparents are out for a walk in the park and a little kid runs out in front of them followed by the parents.
Your grandmum will pick that kid up twirl it around kiss it on the cheek say shit like “ooh who's a cute little boy” whilst your granddad goes out and buys a chocolate bar for the kid and the kid’s parents stand there beaming smiles looking proud.
And it doesn't have to be grandmums either. Male or female of any age as long as you don’t look like a murderer it's acceptable.
On the flip side..
When I was about 17 my family and I took a trip to Europe on one of these package holidays which meant we were put in a group of all kinds of Indian people.
At Disneyland in Paris a kid that looked eerily like the one from Baby's Day Out was just standing next to its stroller looking around.
Unable to tolerate the newfound cuteness of a white kid a lady from our group ran up to the kid and picked it up.
The kid's mum instantly lost her shit screamed her head off and threatened to call the police.
The tour guide did a good job of calming her down though.
“That middle aged Indian lady isn’t kidnapping your kid she just thinks he’s cute”

Men wearing sungas (small bathing suits) on the beach.
Here in Brazil it is perfectly fine for men to wear only a sunga on the beach and nearby areas. No one will judge you and it is actually the norm. Men wear shorts too but not as often.

Calling people “cunt”.
In Australia we call each other cunt all the time it’s like another word for “mate”.
I had a British friend visit Australia for the first time and he was offended when someone called me a “sick cunt”. He thought the guy was insulting me but he was actually complimenting me.
It’s not seen as a dirty word here. It’s seen more as a praise than a derogatory term.

Cohabiting with parents past the legal age.
Much to my amusement an american colleague once wore an incredulous look the whole time I told him that it was culturally acceptable to reside with parents (in India) not just past the age of 18 but also after marriage.
Purely for my entertainment I rattled his brain further by telling him that my grandparents parents/uncle-aunt cousins/sibling/me and my niece — that's 4 generations — live together under the same roof.
‘You're a weak man’ he said ‘if you continue to be a burden to your parents.’
It was lost on him that in India this isn't the definition of burden but of sanskar (culturedness). Children do not reside with parents out of helplessness compulsion or the weight of expectations. Our upbringing doesn't make it look so because this has been the norm for centuries.
For most of us this is how life comes a full circle — parents raise us and we as young adults look after them when they're old.
Parents won't ask this of you or hold this over your head of course. Their love remains non contractual. But if it is done out of willingness they won't deny it.
In disbelief he kept shaking his head. It was a fun little conversation mostly because of his shock.
