They can copy everything else in the worldbut somehow end up with epic fail on their plumbing system. Why?
Wumao can also post about why their countryis garbage in this regard.

I have absolutely no evidence for what I'mabout to say apart from gut feeling, so don't take it as anything excepthypothesising.
Consider how during the rapid developmentof China, and the growth of their cities there has been a shortage of places atreputable higher education institutions, which is still being addressed (and isa major reason so many Chinese study abroad). Now consider that advanced tradeskills, including installing full house plumbing to a modern standard requiresmore than a few evening classes worth of training. It wouldn't surprise me ifthe number of new plumbers trained to modern standards each year is nowherenear enough to feed the Chinese construction boom, hence the shortfall is madeup of people who have been trained on the job to a good-enough standard. Sincethe expectations from customers with regard to plumbing and, it must be said, other trade skills (electricians often don't seem much better) are low outsideof the very-high end market, and the CCP is wary of introducing too muchregulation in a vital industry, there is no pressure to improve, yet.

You could also mention that the Chinese areused to this kind of shit construction and are actually paying sometimes 2million US$ for such a place. As long as there are people buying it nothingwill improve.

It is also a cost cutting and time savingmeasure. Proper plumbing takes time to install and costs more.

I think you are spot on. I have beenthinking the same thing. Tradesmen take time to developel. They typically learnthe trade with a mixture of school and on the job training. China is stillrelatively new to the modern world that requires high skilled tradesmen. Thereare good ones but not near enough to feed demand. I believe you can see this inother industries as well.

lol no, the designer actually do draw ingood plumbing system (especially those build by foreign investment), the thingis most main contractor (only state company may become main contractor forlarge project) will simply ignore the drawing and install cheap plumbing duringthe night and cover it up, by day time the owner have no method to check (maincontractor gamble for you to remove the concrete so they could charge you moreif the part you dig up is installed correctly) and it is not important enoughto gamble (no one see it anyway)

Even in developed countries though,"trained" and "professional" plumbers can be full of shit.Go search this on youtube, "This old house plumbing ".

去youtube上搜索“This old house plumbing”(这个老旧的房屋水管系统)

You know it's shit when it's commonpractice to have a bin dedicated for used toilet paper.
Coincidentally, the best way to find outthe class of a place is not from its furniture and its decors, but from thecondition of its bathrooms. This applies to many places in China.

The building I live in the west wasconstructed 102 years ago. The pipes are big and still working well. Is China200 years behind?

Is that a rhetorical question?

No.

不是。

So your building has proper sewage systemfor more than a hundred years? Good for you. Up to this date, it is still aluxury than many in third world countries cannot afford.
Having a shitty toilet (no pun intended) isstill better than having no toilet at all. I don't see why there's a need toadmit that China is behind in this regard. All cheap toilets clog.

Don't you like the smell of garlic andlajiao in the morning?
A lot of toilets are located where itwasn't designed in the first place. They use small diameter pipes with notenough gradient connecting to the main pipe because that's the cheapest way toadd a toilet. Old pipes have small diameters, I guess also because of cost andbecause before that it was just an open trench.

My fucking toilet was clogged for nearly amonth. I just got it fixed 2 weeks ago and now it's fucked again. And yes, foreveryone wondering, I did take a shit in my bathroom sink last night.

[–]Lukendless
I wasn't wondering that but wow. I'dprobably shit in the trash before I shit in the sink. Did you then clean it outwith your hands and throw it away? Wyd dude?

[–]WatermelonFrisbeeCanada
Well I'm really tall so it was easy for meto get right up and in there and aim my ass almost directly over the drain. That and it was also diarrhea because Chinese food and I had the water running,so it all just kinda slid down nicely.

I wouldn't ever think to shit where I washmy face hands and teeth.
