Background:
Some people ask me : how come I know so much about China, I was born in small town of Punjab region of India. When I was very young our primary school teacher used to tell us, our neighbor is very civilized country, lord Buddha is reverend there, and he told us lot of amazing things about China. I vowed then that I will try to learn as much as I can about China, it was my quest to learn more and more about China/Chinese.
Some of the a few pictures which author took during his and her ( I and my wife ) trips to China.

一些人问我，为何我这么了解中国，我出生在印度旁遮普省的一个小镇，我小时候，小学老师告诉我们，我们的邻居是非常文明的国家，佛祖在那儿备受尊敬，还告诉了我们许多关于中国的神奇事情。我曾发誓我要尽量多地了解中国，这是我对中国和中国人了解得越来越多的原因。

China is not a homogeneous country : it is a myth that it is one race, there are 55 recognized minorities, and surprising they all live in peace.
China is very safe place on the earth, most of the people are very honest, hard working and mind their own business.
China has the fastest train in the world, which attains maximum 431 km/hour, I have traveled in that train.
Mandarin is the main binding force which binds the country, otherwise there are so many dialects among Chinese.
Rice is not a staple food all across China.
It is myth Chinese have miserable lives: by and large Chinese are very happy, friendly and hard working bunch.
Most of them adore their very hard working smart leader/s for example Honorable president Xi and his wife the first lady are very popular in China and abroad.

1、中国不是个同质化的国家，它是个神话，是一个种族，有55个被认同的少数民族，令人惊奇的是他们和平共处。

2、中国是世界上很安全的国家，大部分人非常诚实，努力工作，忙于自己的事情。

3、中国有世界上最快的火车，最高时速431公里。

4、普通话是凝聚国家的主要纽带，另外中国有很多方言。

5、大米不是全中国的主食。

6、谣传中国人过着非常悲惨的生活，总体上，中国人非常幸福、友好、勤劳。

China is spending tremendous amount of wealth resources in clean energy and controlling pollution.
Chinese most of them very frugal and they save a lot, and they live within their means.
China’s mega cities as big as with 30 million people run like clock, relatively very clean, no visible homelessness, filth and beggars. At least I have not seen it.
World’s best public transport system*,
Schools are not a joke as they are becoming in rest of the world.
Police is very friendly and in fact there to protect, and not bunch of crooks as we see fair number in rest of the world.
China is number 2 in the UNESCO protected heritage sites in the world.
Joint family system is very alive and well in that part of the world.
It is also a myth that Chinese are all atheist, Christianity, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism is alive and well with some people.

China is the biggest producer of pork in the world.
China is biggest producer of shoes.
China is biggest producer of artificial toys and Xmas trees.
China is the most populous country in the world.
Yes China has Muslim minority, called Hui people of China, Also, Uyghurs are also Chinese Muslims, mainly live in Xinjiang.
Yes China has white people who have European genes.
It is all nonsense that Chinese eat everything, may be when there was food shortage, in desperation they are not different than anyone else. In fact Chinese food is very healthy.
Chinese food in the world across is just fake, it is not representation of authentic Chinese food.

17、中国是世界上最大的猪肉生产国。

18、中国是最大的鞋类生产国。

19、中国是最大的人造玩具和圣诞树的生产国。

20、中国是世界上人口最多的国家。

21、中国有穆斯林少数民族，叫回族，还有维吾尔族也是中国穆斯林，主要生活在新疆。

22、中国有白人，有欧洲基因。

23、“中国吃所有东西”是胡说八道，或许在食物短缺的时候是这样，在绝境中，人们和其他人没什么不同。实际上中国食物非常健康。

24、世界上的中国菜都是假的，不是正宗的中国菜。

Due to one child policy of he past there are less girls available and 30 million men may never find a suitable bride.
Girls now do not change their names after marriage.
China is one of the best places for gender equality.
28 Learn Mandarin young man before it is too late
Some philosophical thoughts for myself:
Do not believe the press/media unless you go and see.

25、因为过去的一孩政策，女孩数量减少了。3000万男人可能找不到合适的新娘。

28、赶紧学普通话吧，年轻人。

WeChat is everything, basically functions as FB and Instagram and Apple Pay/Credit Card/Cash/Money.
Use DiDi Chuxing, don’t even try to call a cab
You can get amazing and cheap stuff from Taobao
Labor is still relatively cheap, so you can get really good and cheap haircuts
Air pollution is bad but life still goes on
There’s lots of good food
Some people can be rude but there are just as many nice people
Cities like Shanghai never sleep
It’s safer than most countries in Europe and America

在中国住过一阵。

1、微信即一切，基本上功能就像脸书、INS、苹果支付、信用卡、现金、钱。

2、滴滴出行，甚至不用出租车。

3、淘宝上能买到让你神奇的便宜货。

4、劳动力仍相对便宜，所以你可以花较少的钱剪个不错的头发。

5、空气污染很糟，但生活仍要继续。

6、有很多好吃的。

7、有些人粗鲁，但有很多人不错。

High speed trains are almost always on time down to the second
The sun comes up pretty early (in Shanghai and in the east)
Most people live in high rises
Real estate prices are really high these days
There are a lot of electric scooters
Every city has a ton of museums worth going to since China had such a long and rich history
In some parts of Shanghai it doesn’t even feel like you’re in China because there are so many foreign stores and expats
You need to be really good at driving to drive in China

Kids rarely come out to play because they study hard
Even if you understand Mandarin, it can be hard to understand people if you’re not native since there are so many dialects. The Mandarin you learn in classes will be best for going to Beijing and places up north. Shanghainese and Cantonese are a totally different family of languages in the Sinitic branch of the Sino-Tibetan language family (Thank you Kevin Zhang for clarifying)
It’s hard to come up with 20 things because each place in China is so different

18、孩子们认真读书，很少出门玩。
