NEW DELHI/HONG KONG (Reuters) - India will set up a satellite tracking and imaging centre in southern Vietnam that will give Hanoi access to pictures from Indian earth observation satellites that cover the region, including China and the South China Sea, Indian officials said.

India has two things going for it: they have become a high tech savvy nation and they are a democracy. With a large diversified military, any of the surrounding nations would have to think twice before challenging them. Pakistan is a prime example. That said, I applaud Modi in making overtures to other nations in southeast Asia to become a larger political power. It is no secret that India has many disputes with China concerning their borders and anything that they can do to irritate China is a plus for the western world.

Indians are foolish to think they can challenge China in Vietnam where even US could not win against China in Vietnam Conflict. US did not understand Vietnam so they got stuck during Vietnam War. But China understands Vietnam like the back of their own hand. China also supported North Vietnam, which ultimately defeated the US. Indians are in for long ride, which will drain them financially, if they got stuck in South China Sea and started taking sides against China.

The dream situation for us western nations to maintain our regressing power is to see the powers that can challenge us fighting each other.
