Work less. Play more. Spend more. That’s not how China managed to surpass Japan and become the world’s second-largest economy in just one generation of fast growth. It’s more like: nose to the grindstone, long hours, cheap wages, save and invest everything.

工作时间更少。玩的时间更多。花钱更多。这不是中国超越日本成为世界第二大经济体的原因所在。中国的快速发展更有可能归结为：努力工作，劳动时间长，廉价工资，储蓄以及投资于任何事物。

So it may come as a surprise that China’s trying to emulate European-style vacations. At least, that’s what it sounds like. A recent memo from the powerful State Council, the highest level of government, urged Chinese companies to send their workers home at noon on Fridays, thereby introducing the four-and-a-half-day work week

Just as we are demanding more work for less pay! This is enormously significant. While our morale sinks further, theirs rises. And it is equally important that corrupt profiteers and politicians are being dealt with more severely there. I believe there was actually an execution a year or two back.

The thought of several hours everyday to eat lunch, take a walk, and a nice nap would do more for me. If only there was a "Pro Siesta" candidate to vote for.

2/3 of US workforce allowed only 3 days a week to work. It called "PARTIMERS", to limit companies of paying any benefit and overtime.
China is known of copying ideas and Walmart deserve that credit.
