中国军队将在三年内终止有偿服务 [美国媒体]

BEIJING (Reuters) - China's military will end so-called paid for services within the next three years, state media said on Monday, the latest move to modernize the armed forces amid a reform and anti-corruption push.   The People's Liberation Army announced the move in November, meaning non-core activities such as military-run hospitals and hotels open to the public will be ditched.

北京（路透社）——中国军队未来三年内将结束所谓的有偿服务，国家媒体周一报道，这是在改革和反腐期间中国做出的最新的军事现代化举动。解放军11月份宣布了这项举动，那些非核心的活动比如向公众开放的军队医院和酒店将被废除。

The military was banned from overt commercial activities in 1998, but allowed some exceptions.

1998年开始中国禁止军队从事公然的商业活动，但是允许某些特例的存在。

According to a circular issued by the Central Military Commission, headed by President Xi Jinping, the armed forces must not sign any new contracts for paid services and allow existing contracts to expire.

根据中央军事委员会所发布的通知，武装部队不能签署新的有偿服务合同，并且让现有的合同到期不得续签。

The notice was carried on the front page of the People's Liberation Army Daily.

这条通知出现在了《解放军报》头版上。

Military paid service is a way to provides jobs to people like the USA is employing people from the US slam areas where the young men have no hope in areas of 30 to 50% unemployment rates. For China with 2 billion people it was a way the military was a job employer but now with so much manufacturing there is no need to draft for employment reasons.
War and military activities these days are sophisticated in nature and need more science and engineering than boots with a primitive rifle.
