GENEVA (AFP) - Male Muslim students at a school in northern Switzerland will no longer have to shake hands with their female teachers, following a ruling that was on Monday causing an uproar in the country.

They argued that Islam does not permit physical contact with a person of the opposite sex, with the exception of certain immediate family members.

The local Therwil council did not support the school's decision, "but will not intervene as (it) is the responsibility of the school to set the rules," spokeswoman Monika Wyss told AFP in a statement.

Quite right, shaking hands is part of the host culture and these interlopers should observe that because they are guests and if not begin the march back to the sand. I think political correctness has allowed this dysfunctional religion to flourish, but they do not integrate and demand it all their own way when in fact the should be thankful other countries opened their doors to them. At the least they are disrespectful to their host nations or just bloody rude. Personally I'd send political correctness back to the desert with all of them, they don't adapt well to civilised societies whatsoever.

Not surprising. Mohammed taught and lived as an example that women are lower than animals, which is why the 'fundamental' hard core believers treat them women as such. So opposed to "bone of my bones, flesh of my flesh" Christian teachings. 
Personally, I've always considered Swiss women untouchable anyway cuz I've always been awed by their beauty, unable to attain even the thought of a beautiful Swiss woman accepting a date with me. So I married a vivacious German Dutch girl the first time, then a beautiful Norwegian the second and last time around. And I never thought they'd date this Island-boy either.

No one should be forbidden from shaking the teachers hand nor should they be required. Shaking 10 000 students hands everyday doesn't have to be a part of teaching. I am not requiring any student to shake my hand but my job would be to teach them, if there's a handshake involved, why ? Everyone involved would have to hand sanitize frequently with so much funk spreading from hand to hand it seems like a more intelligent choice to skip the formality and get class started. It takes too much time to shake and greet , wash and settle the class in.
Why have a line outside of your classroom before every class to shake hands all the time ? Seems like a weird choice to me.

The so-called leaders of the West and many people in the West have no idea what they are in for. This is just the beginning. Give the Muslims some time. When they get big enough and strong enough, not only will they not be shaking hands with females -- you, too, will not be allowed to shake hands with females. And that is just one of a countless number of rules the Muslims will force on you, and they will make it a law!
Wake the hell up! Muslims are not in your countries to be your equals. They are in your countries to be your conquerors. It's just a matter of time and how big their populations get.

When did it become the duty of a host country to change their way of life to accommodate outsiders, if you do not like our way, then get out and go to your country. we did not ask you to come here. follow are rules or get out.. I remember I use to go to a Christian school, I had to follow what they say in order to stay in school, in my heart I pray to my god. but being there I have to follow there rule.

Why do they go around to different countries changing the rules? why not stay in your own country with all Muslims and dress like hundred's of years ago, and than others wouldn't have to be bothered with all their high maintenance.

They are an island unto themselves and don't want to be part of Switzerland. The 2 should not have the option to change the rules to suit themselves. Why would the school approve women teachers being slighted and treated with less respect than men? The women teachers should refuse to instruct them unless they are in compliance. Similar behaviors are happening all over the world where Muslims and people of some religions demand special treatment that violate other people's right or the requirements of the positions they want to work. If they cannot or will not follow the rules or meet the requirements they should not be allowed to attend the school or hold the position.

The Swiss people and all other western countries should not give up an inch to please those demanding "immigrants." When you want to live with us you have to respect our values and learn to behave accordingly. Otherwise, seek home in another islamic state.
