Japan has confirmed for the first time that a worker has died after being exposed to radiation at the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant in 2011.

The announcement today is the first time Japanese authorities confirmed a worker at the plant died as a result of being exposed to dangerous levels of radiation from the disaster seven years ago.
