How come Chinese people set up their China stores easily everywhere in the world even though they don't speak the local language and they are there for the first time in their life?

It’s not so surprising since Chinese have been doing that since two thousand years ago.

The currency history dated back to late Shang Dynasty, 1500 to 1600 BC. The first metal cast shell currency found was around that time. And after Qin unified China and unified currency, built the first copper, gold reserve of the world, merchandise exchange in China is fundamentally the same as of today.

So, that generation of Chinese were particularly good at setting up shop in another country. Even though they don’t know the language and the country, they always adjust to fit in, and apply the experience their ancestors had been doing to make a living.

Funding and assistance from other Chinese. So you get shipped over to the United States to work for a Chinese restaurant for your uncle. After a few years, you learn how to operate a restaurant and your uncle will loan money for your own restaurant. You hire your relatives and the process continues.

If you’re a recent arrival and cannot speak the local tongue, what are your chances of landing a job, especially if you look distinct from the locals?

One time I visited my daughter at Berkeley, California . We saw some panhandlers. I asked my daughter, if Dad came penniless to the US, would Dad end up being a panhandler. She said, absolutely not. Why? “ Because you don’t want to be .” She was spot on. I think that’s the attitude of many in the Asian diaspora — they want to successful. Witness, for example, the spectacular rise of the Indians in American society.
