From 2011 to 2016, with support from the World Bank-supported Shandong Ecological Afforestation Project, trees and shrubs were planted on 13,800 hectares of saline land in Dongying, China. Forest cover increased by 1.7%.龙腾网 http://www.ltaaa.com

Project staff worked with experts from forest research institutes and companies, and introduced and bred nearly 200 salt-tolerant species, including 60 species suitable for growing in soil with more than 0.3% salt content.

What was considered waste salty land can be useful if we humans knows how to manage it. Certain trees can be grown for uses. Certain salt resistant animal fodders can be grown as well as cash crops like potatoes. Which is highly nutritious.

只要我们人类懂得如何管理，曾经被认为只能废弃的盐碱地也能得到利用。某些树种可以生长其上以供使用，某些耐盐动物饲料可以种植，还可以种土豆等经济作物，且营养丰富。
