Hong Kong (CNN Business) China'smassive export machine is shrugging off the trade war, but there are doubts howmuch longer it can keep it up.

Chinese exports arebenefiting from the drop in the value of the country's currency. The yuan has slumpedabout 9% versus the US dollar over the past six months as investors have becomemore concerned about the health of China's economy. A weaker currency makesChinese goods more competitive compared with those of rival exporters.

That may have helpedChina's trade surplus with the United States jump to a monthly record of $34billion in September. The huge surplusis one of US President Donald Trump's chief grievances in the trade dispute.

Chinese exporters may alsohave rushed through orders in September before a new wave of US tariffs kickedin at the end of the month, said Louis Kuijs, head of Asia economics atresearch firm Oxford Economics.

研究公司牛津经济研究院（Oxford Economics）的亚洲经济学负责人路易斯库伊斯表示，中国出口商也可能在9月份匆忙完成订单，以规避月底出现新的美国关税浪潮。

The United States imposednew 10% tariffs on a further$200 billion of Chinese goods on September 24.

The Trump administrationplans set to raise its tariffs on the $200 billion of Chinese goods from 10% to25% at the end of the year. And Trump has said he's prepared to expand thetariffs to effectivelycover all Chinese exports to the United States, which topped $500billion last year.

特朗普政府计划在今年年底将2000亿美元中国商品的关税从10％提高到25％。特朗普表示，他准备扩大关税范围，以有效地覆盖中国对美国的所有出口产品，去年该出口额超过5000亿美元。
