Wow..everyone is good with words and propaganda. Let's stick on the facts. Tell me a single example where China did as well as the US and UK have done in developed and advanced economies such as Europe, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, South Africa, Hong Kong among others. China with its dystopian Social Rating System pose a serious threat to the real meaning of humankind. China is a dictatorship ruled by a handful of despotic autocrats. On a daily basis they prosecute and eliminate political dissident, social minorities, religious groups including Christians and those who does not abide the dictates from Beijing. On the top of this outrageous restrictions on the individual's freedom, China economic aggression includes physical and cyber-enabled theft of technologies and intellectual property, evading export control laws, counterfeiting, piracy and reverse engineering. This is made possible primarily by the hundred of thousands of Chinese students and workers controlled by the Beijing regime who infiltrates the rest of the world with their fakeness and double-faced approach. Nelson Mandela once said "To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains but to live in a way that respect and enhances the freedom of others". The so called Chinese sugar-coated approach that try to buy respect with money cannot work with people with a minimum sense of integrity and dignity. No wonder why many consider China the threat number one to the world stability.

Still don't see how this deal back in the 70's is relevant today. There was a cold war going on back then and China and Russia were NOT allies. Dynamics and politics change. China was a dirt poor country back then.

On the other hand, The US companies will be hurt by 10% additional tax. As China initially said, trump is shooting his own foot. Trump does not understand that. Stock market is not the reflection of economy. Currency rate the the function of fed raising interest rate. You are the one who does not understand the economy just like those propaganda people in the Foxnews program. The effect of tariff has not come out yet, but the stock market reacts by the psychology only, not the real economy.
