At first, they said the islands were thebase for research vessels and for search and rescue purposes. Then a coupleyears later, they put missiles on the islands. When confronted, they said thatwere for the protection of their fishing fleets against pirates. Then theyclaimed the entire South China Sea. Obama did absolutely nothing! Had Obamaraised the issue and sent Navy ships to occupy those islands or at least thesmaller islands nearby, China would have backed down because at that time, theyhave not put a lot of time and money building them. Now they already openlyassert their claim, they can't back off without losing face. So, the NobelPeace Prize winner just kicked the ball down the road and let the nextgeneration fight the war, which is inevitable.

The only country performing 'repeatedchallenges' is China. And they are continue doing this while in directviolation of international law. So THEY are the aggressors, not Taiwan and notthe U.S.
