A Norwegian Navy frigate was rammed by an oil tanker on Thursday at approximately 4 a.m. local time while it was docked on the country's west coast, according to the military. The crew of 127 was evacuated as the vessel took on water and began to sink.

From the damage this was a head on incident, unlike the recent similar USN accidents. It looks like the tanker’s anchor ripped the side of the frigate open. The RNoN claimed that the frigate was moored but why in a narrow shipping lane and if it was how was it able to immediately beach (should really be rock) iti suspect that, whilst he made the correct decision after the incident, the frigate’s captain’s career is now overself whilst sinking?Also the tanker had a local pilot on board and was escorted by a tug.
