It’s also more important for a man to be tall. Which confuses me because this is a girl in this picture. Tall girls can be problematic because may end up single for the rest of their lives. Many won’t date shorter man so you’re eliminating a majority of the 5’5” male population of China.

I think the girls believe it's important to have a taller boyfriend (just like everywhere else, maybe a bit more). But I don't think girls feel it's that important that they themselves are tall. Well they all do wear very high shoes at risk of falling down but only some obsessed girls think that way. However, when taking pics they do try to look as tall as possible, and end up doing stuff like this. Of course, in the West girls do crazy stuff like this too
