On Monday, an area in Houston, Texas, had to be shut down and temporarily guarded after a Bank of America ATM began giving out $100 bills instead of $10 ones by mistake. The bank issued a statement on the glitch, saying, “This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills,” adding that they have “resolved the matter.”

The bank is not "letting them keep" the money. They just aren't pressing charges (at this point). It's really simple to track who has the money because they all used their ATM cards to take the money out. Their accounts will be adjusted to reflect the amount that they were given.

They would have to prove that they did in fact receive a $100 dollar bill and not a $10 bill. Good luck proving that. Theres a reason they arent going after the money. The decimal amount they lose from this is miniscual.
