China isn't financing governments. Instead, they are having the governments there give the development and management of said infrastructure to Chinese firms. So there is no issue of having to pa back China.

To be honest, having China exploit Africa and giving them infrastructureand diplomatic relations in return isn't nearly as bad as the westexploiting Africa and then in turn declaring war on them, go China!

I think it would be accurate to say that China (and East Asia in general)is a heck of a lot better than any Western country at taking a very longterm view.China is definitely playing the long game with Africa, their own slow strengthening of their currency, acquisition of gold reserves,acquisition of naval power (or land based weapons that counter naval power, at least). They are setting up a solid base to position themselves as a superpower.

What would happen if they do not leave? I assume they have their own protection but that wouldn't be any sort of measure if the Venezuelan military took action against them.

Since the US just recognized Guaido as the president, it means Maduros order is irrelevant to the USA. That means the US diplomats will (or should) now stay in the country. If Maduro takes actions against them, it would be like if a warlord attacks an embassy (in the eyes of the USA). Which means military retaliation in all likelyhood.

The only country I'd not say that to is China, and even then, I'd place bets on America. Conventional war only of course, which would never happen of course.

China is still pretty behind in alot of aspects, another 50 years and they will be a force to be reckoned with but also by then the US military will be even more advanced.

My point was less that they could beat the US, and more that their the only guys who could scratch the US in a conventional war.
