Of course it is all based on personal opinion since this is entertainment we’re talking about, but in my personal opinion, Sageuk (Korean historical drama) has waned in quality compared to Guzhuang (Chinese historical drama).

每个人的喜好不一样，因为这是娱乐，但我认为，和中国的古装历史剧相比，韩国历史剧的质量有所下降。

Everyone in East Asia knows the Golden Age of Sageuk, which consisted of tons of classics such as Jewel in the Palace, Queen Seon Deok, Jumong, Moon Embracing the Sun, Hwang Jini, and others during the 2010s and before. At that time, there were lots of quality and amazing ones.

东亚人都知道韩国历史剧的黄金时期，包含了大量的经典，比如大长今，善德女王，朱蒙，黄真伊等等，这些都是2010年左右或者之前的作品。当时，韩国出产了很多高质量的历史剧。

However, in current years, Sageuk is more veering toward romance and visual aesthetics. There are some good ones like Love in the Moonlight, but other than that it’s not much, and even this drama is filled with recent tropes and clichés.

然而，最近纪念，韩国历史剧更偏向爱情和视觉美学。有一些好的，比如《云画的月光》，除此之外就没有其他好的历史剧了。



Aside from Joseon, Korea doesn’t seem to care about fashion accuracy regarding any other dynasty, even Goryeo and Silla. They’re usually loosely based on one or two historical paintings, and everything else mimics Hong Kong style of Guzhuang. But even then, the fashion isn’t completely accurate. Even next year’s most promising Sageuk is set in Joseon, but the plotline seems to be moving away from romance and into more diverse categories, so we’ll see.

除了朝鲜王朝，韩国貌似并不关心其他朝代的服装准确性，甚至是高丽和新罗。他们一般以一两幅历史画作作为基础，然后其他方面直接模仿香港的古装范式。但是即使如此，服装也完全不准确。明年最令人期待的韩国历史剧也是以朝鲜王朝为背景，但是故事情节从爱情变成了更加广泛的范畴，让我们拭目以待。

Six Flying Dragons was awesome, just saying. But costume-wise? You are SO right about the Chinese historicals! I love the costumes and settings so much!

Their actors and actresses look way more modern than how classic beauties look like (but I only compare them to Chinese because I don’t know any classically beautiful Korean).
Lesser creative plotlines and the stories evolve slowly throughout all, the way they talk, the way they act,.and so on.
Chinese historical dramas, in contrast to Korean side, have full attractive elements for me. Seeing their dramas, you may wish to travel back to that era and enjoy the life of ancient people.

他们的演员看起来太现代了，和古典美人应该有的样子不同（但是我拿他们和中国人比较，因为我不认识任何韩国古代美女）
情节创意更少，而且故事演变较慢，包括他们的谈话方式，他们的举止等等。
相比之下，中国历史剧对于我来说拥有所有吸引人的要素。看他们的历史剧，你可能希望穿越回那个时代，享受古人的生活。
