They want a rich Vietnam that is politically submissive to China.
Vietnam is a large market for Chinese products due to the similar culture. So a rich Vietnam will be beneficial to China

他们想要一个臣服于中国的富有越南。由于类似的文化，越南是中国产品的大市场。所以一个富有的越南对中国是有利的。

China wants a rich and friendly stable Vietnam as his trade partner and neighbor.
A poor and hating- China Vietnam does China no good.
China is much much bigger and stronger than Vietnam no matter how rich and strong Vietnam will be . So we are really not afraid of a rich and prosperous Vietnam. We rather see Vietnam's prosperity as opportunity.
But here is the red line — NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS !!!! Take North Korea as a lession.

不论越南多么强大富有，都无法对抗中国的强大和富有。所以我们真的不害怕越南变成一个富有繁荣的国家。我们视越南的繁荣为机遇。
但底线是越南不能有核武器！！以朝鲜为教训。



Bilateral trade between two countries has reached a record 100 billion last year. Instead of confrontation, both have chosen to cooperate and trade. In fact, China exports more goods to Vietnam than any other country in Southeast Asia, sending textiles to be made into shirts and sneakers, and electronic components for mobile phones and large flat-panel displays. Those completed products are exported around the world, as well as back to China.

双边贸易去年达到了破纪录的1000亿美元。双方选择了合作和贸易而不是冲突。实际上，中国对越南的货物出口比任何其他东盟国家都多，纺织品送去制作衬衫和运动鞋，电子产品送去制造智能手机和大的平面显示器。这些成品出口到全世界，包括出口回中国。

It’s very hard for China to lose influences in Vietnam since Vietnam has followed China not only economic but also political system model.

In my opinion, China would like to see a Vietnam political stability and a prosperous economy. China does not want to see Vietnam as a failed state like North Korea because SEA countries would think: See, if you want to be China ally, friend, you will be poor, starving like North Korea. Another reason, China does not like to see a Vietnam falling into the U.S orbit, China most fear rival.

在我看来，中国愿意看到越南政治稳定经济繁荣。中国不想看到越南变成朝鲜那样失败的国家，因为东盟国家会说：变成中国的盟友或者朋友的话，就会一直穷下去，像朝鲜一样饿肚子。另一原因，中国不想看到越南站在美国那一边，美国是中国最害怕的对手。

What China wants (and needs) is a reliable Vietnam as a trade partner and a good neighbor, not another North Korea. It is obviously that this reliability means a stably developing economy. The point is the stability of the economical growth not the wealth level.
Personally, rich Vietnam is better.

中国需要的是稳定的越南作为贸易伙伴和友邻，不是另一个朝鲜。要获得这种稳定性，经济就必须持续发展。问题在于经济增长的稳定，而不在于财富水平。我个人认为富有的越南更好。
