SAN DIEGO -- The Marine Corps is investigatingtwo active-duty Marines at Camp Pendleton for a socialmedia post of a photo of a corporal in uniform holding an assault rifle and themessage: "Coming to a gay bar near you!"

Maj. Staci Reidinger said Thursday that fellow Marines alerted officials to thepost, and authorities were able to track down the Marine in the photograph andanother one who reposted it.

According to the Marine Corps Times, the post appeared on a private Facebookgroup for male Marines with the words "Too soon?" before theadministrator deleted it and banned the person from the group.

The message was posted in the "men seeking men" section of the localwebsite, KGTV reported. The station received a screenshot of the post, whichcontained a gun being fired, before it was taken down from the site.

The people in the military musthave changed a lot since I retired.

The job of the US military isto protect people who cannot protect themselves.  We do that when the politicians assign us toa war and we do that when helping Americans and others suffering throughnatural disasters.  To feel malicetowards a group of people because of who they are is about the most anti-militarything I can think of.

More evidence that in thiscase, the pledge to ISIS was probably mostlyfor dramatic effect.  Look at the CApastor who said after the shooting that gays deserved to die.  Look at some prominent televangelists whoblamed 9/11 and Katrina on acceptance of gay rights.  
This is a case, sadly, in whicha number of evangelicals (not all) don't really care because of the nature ofthe target.  Meanwhile, T RUmp attemptsto use it as a wedge issue to get gays on his side by trying to turn them onthe Muslims.
