Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter repealedthe Pentagon’s long-held ban on transgender people serving in the militaryThursday, ending a year-long process that was bogged down by internal conflictand concerns among senior service officials about how the change could be made.

Carter said at a news conference that thepolicy change will take place over the next 12 months, beginning with guidanceissued to current transgender service members and their commanders, followed bytraining for the entire military. Beginning Thursday, however, service memberscan no longer be involuntarily separated from the services solely on the basisof being transgender, he said.

Pretty much. LGB is pretty natural to me. Iwould not have admitted that 20 years ago due to peer pressure. Just like howthe trans thing is becoming acceptable due to the same forces.

IF I were a woman that wanted to enlist inthe Army, and was a transgender, would I take my physical with men and would Ialso take basic training with men. Now we know that men and women do not sleepin the same room but if I were a woman and a transgender, would I be allowed tosleep with the men?  
I guess what I am trying to say is the sameas the gun control people, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. The nation has got along withstandards in the armed forces for over 200 year without all this politicalgarbage. I hope the next president straightens this out.

To me this is the correct decision, but itisn't a big deal in the military, there are not a lot of transgendered soldiersout there in the real world. The decision is more an overall societal impact,that all humans can serve their country regardless of what their gender isdefined as.
