PESHAWAR (Reuters) - A delegation from the Taliban visitedChina earlier this month to discuss the situation in Afghanistan, where theinsurgent movement is fighting the Western-backed government in Kabul, sourcesin the Taliban said.

白沙瓦（路透社），一个阿富汗塔利班代表团于七月早期访问中国，讨论了目前阿富汗内部局势。据塔利班内部消息，目前该组织正在同西方支持的政府在喀布尔激战。

A delegation led by Abbas Stanakzai, head ofthe Taliban's political office in Qatar, visited Beijing on July 18-22 at theinvitation of the Chinese government, a senior member of the Taliban said.

塔利班内部高级人士说道，该代表团由塔利班位于卡塔尔的政治办公室负责人Abbas Stanakzai率领，应中国政府邀请在7月18至7月22日访问中国。

"We have good terms with differentcountries of the world and China is one among them," said the Talibanofficial, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

"We informed Chinese officials aboutthe occupation by invading forces and their atrocities on Afghan people,"he said. "We wanted the Chinese leadership to help us raise these issueson world forums and help us get freedom from occupying forces."
