BEIJING (Reuters) - China's Taiwan Affairs Office said on Wednesday any interference with or damage to the "one China" principle would have a serious impact on peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait.

北京（路透社）-国台办周三发表声明：任何干扰和破坏一个中国原则（的行为），都将严重影响两岸的和平和稳定。

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said on Sunday the United States did not necessarily have to stick to its long-standing position that Taiwan is part of "one China" further upsetting China which was already angered by Trump's earlier telephone call with Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen.

美国当选总捅唐纳德.床破周日声称：美国没必要被一个中国原则所限制，（这句话）使得本就因床破和菜英文通电话一事而被激怒的中国更是怒不可遏。

The issue is highly sensitive for China which considers Taiwan a renegade province and Beijing expressed "serious concern" about Trump's remarks.

China has been pushing us around for a long time now when Trump questions them they start to threaten. Sounds like they think and act like spoiled little kids. The US should have not coddled them so much in the recent past I think they feel it was a sign of weakness with us. Much of the trade deals goodwill and foreign relations with them have been to their benefit or their wishes. Nixon should have stayed home or the following Presidents should have kept our interests ahead of China's...or at least equal. We have been paying a very high price for their "friendship".

I dislike Trump but I am also not sure that we should still accede to China's "One China" Policy. That might have made sense in 1979 when we basically had to choose between a big and a small dictatorship. Nowadays Taiwan is a vibrant democracy and I don't like the thought of us abandoning them to mainland China's whims.
