Now, NK gives no benefit to China, US, nor SK. Nuclear threats also anger China and everyone else
Why won't US make a deal with China to join together to defeat NK and reunite Korea into one, and in return US will retreat their military from Korea? Isn't US military the reason why China supports NK?

In the event of a war, there will be millions of refugees seeking to flee the violence, and most of them will probably end up in China. Millions upon millions of desperate, sick, injured, starving, panicking people will come streaming into the country. That is an awful lot of people to take care of and would be a huge drain on resources; just look at what is going on with refugees in Europe.

If North Korea falls, South Korean will move up to fill in the vacuum and the last thing China wants is a very US friendly country just next to it’s borders. The reason is political.

If China participated in destroying North Korea, I don’t think North Korean refugees would flee to China, because it would be an enemy country. In the beginning of the war here in Bosnia, a group of Bosniaks who lived near Montenegro tried to flee there, just to escape the war, even though Montenegro was together with Serbia and both participated in invading Bosnia. Guess what happened to those refugees? They got killed.

Moreoever, in such a country like NK, many people are ex-soldiers which means thery are very dangerous in such situation. Even right now there are some NK soldiers acroos the border and kill some Chinese people.

The worry of refugee flood is one reason of many, but neither the only nor an important reason. In the past decades, China has lifted hundreds of millions of its own people out of dire poverty, a couple of millions North Koreans shouldn’t be a big problem. What’s more, if China really doesn’t want any refugees at all, it certainly has the ability to block its border, there’s no doubt about that, but that’s not the point! Like Natalia in her comment said “If the Chinese didn't want the U.S. Army at the Yalu River in 1950, why would they want it now?”
Besides, China has its Non-interference Foreign Policy. China is not helping SK/the US to destroy NK, but China is not helping NK to destroy SK either. NK is a country, a nation, with 25 millions of people, ordinary individuals like you and me. How could some people/states even think they have the right to decide other nations’ fate and cause potential millions of casualties?!

A better question might be, why would China side with a country 10,000 miles away over a country for which they share a border and history with? And a heavily armed neighbor at that.
Would the US consider siding with Poland against Mexico (an example)? It simply wouldn’t make strategic, political or economic sense to side with America in such a situation.
The status quo works for them and siding with America would bring too many negative variables.

一个更好的问题是：为什么中国不和与自己有历史联系的邻国结盟，而要与一个1万英里开外的国家结盟？而且朝鲜全副武装。
举个例子，美国会与波兰结盟对付墨西哥吗？所以在这种情况下，和美国结盟在战略，政治和经济层面都说不通。

Funny thing is that’s not what happened in Korean war. North Korean refugees went south, not north. Same will happen in this war, sure some will go to China, but vast majority of North Koreans will go to South Korea. Northern Korean population density is not that high in the first place.

The simple thought of destroying North Korea seems unreasonable. Why do we need to destroy an independent nation? If North Korea developing Nuclear weapons is a reason, why will not United Nations sign a treaty with nations to destroy all the Nuclear weapons manufactured in the world? Who gave the permission to hold nuclear weapons to present Nuclear weapon states? It is a great hypocrisy of some nuclear nations to insist other nations to stay away from developing nuclear weapons.

Construction is always harder than destroy. Yes we can bring down Kim, then what? See what Iraq is going through? North Korea would be another Iraq, or even worse.
