Do you think America would be better if it had been founded by east Asians sailing from the west instead of white Europeans sailing from the?
Update: The USA I mean, not the various tribal nations that preceded it.

Best Answer:  I'm assuming that by "East Asia" you are referring to China, specifically the Ming Dynasty, as it was during that time period that the Chinese possessed the means to transport large numbers of people across the Pacific and to provide assistance for them while they forged settlements there. Korea was a vassal state of China at that time, and while Japan was independent of China, it was only a very small regional power, incapable of gaining a toehold on another continent.

Had the Chinese attempted to settle the West Coast of North America, they would have faced many of the same difficulties that Europeans faced when they crossed the Atlantic, and it would be impossible to say whether or not the early settlements would have taken hold and prospered, never mind being able to guess whether or not they would have grown and expanded and made it possible for other settlements to come into existence later.

By the time Europeans began to settle North America in greater numbers, the Chinese fleet was only a shadow of what it had been centuries before. It's also likely that the Chinese would not have been all that interested in looking to put down roots on North America as the Chinese approach to annexation and subjugation and conquest differed from the views held by Europeans at that time. North America was never a very populous place compared to Western Europe or East Asia. There was very little in the way of agriculture, certainly nothing that could begin to compare with that of East and Southeast Asia or Western Europe, meaning that it would have been rather difficult for the Chinese to trade with the natives or to supply settlers with sustenance. The East Coast of North America bears many similarities to Western and Northern Europe - many of the same species of plants and trees and animals can be found in both places. Such is not the case when comparing east Asia to the West Coast of North America. Traditional Chinese staple crops would not have done well in North America whereas Europeans - with extensive help and guidance from native Americans of course, were able to see their crops flourish. China was happy to exact tribute from her neighbours and did not see the sense in entering into an arduous, expensive and lengthy endeavour like settling another continent. And if they had, with the change of dynasties would have come the decision to abandon the enterprise anyway. North America was destined to fall under the European sphere of influence. The fact that the British, French, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Danish and the Russians were the ones to gain the greatest influence is no surprise. All were relatively wealthy countries at that time and all had large, strong fleets. The fact that the British, and settlers of British descent, came to hold dominion over the choicest bits of the New World was probably also something that anyone could have foreseen.

There are so many aspects to that question that it would require a fair-sized book to cover them properly.
For a start: what is "better" in that context?
J

bluebellbkk
Define "better", then tell us "better" for whom and when and how?

If it had, maybe Americans wold not be so thick and stupid.

Sorry but that could not have happened.
A totally different basis for civilization.
You need the social fabric to do what Europe did.
The East did not have that.

America would have been better if they had Honored the treaty of Gent and Kept the west for the Indians as they agreed and Signed in the Treaty of Gent

Possibly not

i dont think theres any ways we can know that if it didnt happen like that

No cause then we would have to learn how to speak Asian

It certainly wouldn't have been called "America," now would it?

History
There is some evidence to suggest that it was.

It would of been the same. Many native americans would of died. Depending which asian nation, most likely china, would of used slave labor of some type to expand the colonies.
