it really upset me how badly anyone in asubordinate role was treated when i was in china. weird unequally enforcedrules, shady dealings based on relationships, micromanagement, grovelling infront of anyone with any kind of authority whatsoever and the person withauthority just lapping it up and being like "yes yessss this is my due iearned this". and even the people on "top" always have someoneelse on top of them making them roll around in the mud why they laugh and throwcoins at them so they're never really free of it. felt bad for pretty mucheveryone i knew. whole societies a prison the prisoners built for themselves.

and thats if you're lucky enough to be anurban han male, if you're a woman or a minority theres not even the pretensethat the system exists for your benefit

Chinese women only have some power becauseof the gender gap, if it wasn't for this, they would be treated worse thanbelow dirt.

I was only on a one year scholarship, somaybe I don't have perspective on this, but it seems like PDA was all they hadreally. They live 6-8 to a room and aren't allowed guests of the opposite sex.Guess one-hour motels will do good business in Jilin now.

You all have missed one important thing.This ban is just ahead of the Singles Day (Nov. 11). The university cares aboutthe feelings of those bare branches and doesn't want them to feel inferiorbecause they don't have girlfriends.
