中国又批准两种转基因作物进口，杜邦公司表示失望 [美国媒体]

BEIJING (Reuters) - China has approved two more genetically modified (GMO) crops for import the Ministry of Agriculture said the second such move in the past month to expand access to biotech seeds as part of Beijing's 100-day trade talks with Washington.

The two new crops approved from July 16 for a period of three years are Syngenta's 5307 insect-resistant corn sold under the Agrisure Duracade brand and Monsanto's 87427 glyphosate-resistant corn sold under the Roundup Ready brand the ministry said on its website on Monday.

The move brings total approvals to four after the government last month gave the go-ahead to Dow Chemical Co's Enlist corn and Monsanto's Vistive Gold soybeans.

But it leaves four other products owned by Monsanto DuPont and Dow still on a waiting list pending approval from Beijing.

DuPont was "disappointed" its Pioneer insect-resistant corn was not included a spokeswoman said in an email. The other three are Dow's Enlist soybeans and two alfalfa products developed by Monsanto.

Now since most of the countries in the world will not allow GMO products into their countries we can count on the USA and Chine to poison there people. The number one criminal government organization is the FDA as they seem to be working for the these industries and not for the heealth and safety of America's population. Check the major rise in Type 2 Diabetes Alzheimers and Dementia just to mention a few area of concern. Plus they will never cure cancer as there is too much money to be made by these industries; although dementia has over taken cancer as the number one money making industry; Dememtia is at 203 billion dollar a year and cancer is still a 200 billion dollar industry. Question: Do you really think the government is going to tell these indurtries to cure these problems?

Over 90% of Soybeans and corn are GMO's. There are enough corn and soybeans grown each year in the US to fill a train long enough to wrap around the world 4 times. And it is 100% sold out each year. You city people are so completely out of touch.

Conventional plant breeding and modification techniques are far more terrifying than GMO but you don't know it because those techniques (which produce genetic mutations that were never intended by nature) do not require any disclosures or labeling.

Mikeypoo nailed it. GMO is targeted conventional techniques basically fire a shotgun at plant cells and randomly disrupt the DNA. Most plants do not survive but those that do are bizarre mutants some with bettter properties. It's Frankenplant!
