The Plank Walk to Heaven on Mount Huashan China. We googled "world's most dangerous hike" and this came up so we put it on our list and yesterday we finally got to complete it.

every time I see pictures of this place posted, I consider "OK, walking on that would be scary, but.. some crazy bastard actually BUILT that walkway"

Lots of ropes and cables tied up from the top, drilling holes in the cliff, epoxying in rebar and other connections, then build a structure on top of that and you're off to the races.

You forgot "don't fall"

I found it funny that the people working there gave no direction on how to use the harnesses. There are two leads on a waist belt. When reaching the end of a section of cable, you should take one off, place it on the next section cable and follow suit with the second cable so that you're always secured by at least one. The number of people that were pulling both off at the same time boggled my mind. Especially when it is a two-way walkway. Once you get to to the end, you have to turn back and go the other way, passing over/under other people. 10/10 would still do it again tho

I was passing a lady when I did it in 2012. She grabbed and unhooked both of mine and let them drop. I was on the outside of her. My back to the open air. I was terrified.
First time I ever wanted to slap someone.
Edit: just to clarify for those not familiar, when passing a person on the plank walk, you have to unhook one of the leads, and rehook it around them, and repeat for the other leads inorder to do so safely.

Poor manners.

Mainland chinese are, as a general rule, incredibly self-centered selfish assholes with either no concept or no regard that other people might exist.

I mean I agree but I also see where they are coming from. In a country of 1.3 billion people, you either step on someone to get where you need or get stepped on. Doesn't excuse what they do but it is how it is. Unless you want commit mass genocide to reduce the population, thus competition, manners to strangers not gonna be a thing in China for a while.
