This documentary silently entered the box office on the 14th. It's abiut the comfort women who were forced into rape during the Japanese occupation of China during WWII.

这部纪录片14号上映。它讲述的是二战期间慰安妇们被迫强奸的故事，当时中国正被日本侵略。

My cinema had both Chinese and English subtitles so language should not be an issue.

这部影片有中文字幕，也有英文字幕，所以语言应该不成问题。

Needless to say it's an excellent documentary. It's neither a political statement nor a history lesson. There's no pro-CCP opportunism here.

显然，这是部优秀的纪录片。它既不是什么政治宣言，也不是历史说教，也未乘机宣扬共产党。

It's a record; a diary if you will of the remaining survivors of the ordeal as well as interviews with those who recently passed away before filming was completed.
From start to finish it's the words of these people with minimum editing.

如果你愿意，它就是一份记录，一篇让你记住那些饱受折磨的幸存者的日记，以及对那些在片子完成前就刚刚过世的幸存者的采访。整部纪录片都由这些老人在诉说，只进行最低限度的剪辑。

It's extremely rare that films like this end up on cinema screens here in China so I recommend seeing it if you can before it vanishes.

I read a book that interview those women. Most of them has gone through hell even after China win the war they were raped by other Chinese men. And one of them even said they prefer Japanese because at least the Japanese would clean them up probably after. Chinese treat them like cattle. And not to mention in Cultural Revolution they were treated like spy and were tortured.

I wrote a dumb comment earlier but legit this movie was good. At the end bits they marked the quotes where they said that they hoped that japan and china mend their pains because more war and death would be terrible. Some of the volunteers were japanese students.

Though the focus on japan is hard to miss and my gf missed the whole "forgive eachother" part and just focused on not liking japan.

How many people starved to death during the Great Leap Forward and where is their film?

This film doesn't focus on China as a country seeing itself as the victim.

这部影片关注的不是中国作为一个国家将自己视作受害者。

The content of this film is entirely testimony of the last surviving victims and their thoughts. Their thoughts are mainly concerned with how they rarely want to talk about the painful memories and how their children born of rape couldn't fully integrate into society.

这部影片的内容就是对这些最后的幸存者及她们心思的全记录。她们的心思主要是，她们是怎么就从不愿谈及过去的那些痛苦记忆，为什么她们被强暴后生下的子女都无法完全地融入社会。

There's no victim blaming or quotes about how many time Japan has or hasn't apologised. The quotes at the end of the film actually hope for friendship between China and Japan.

没有受害者指责或引述日本有或者没道歉的次数。影片末尾的引语是希望中国和日本能友好相处。

I'd like to see a documentary about the victims of the GLF as much as you. But that doesn't mean nobody should make documentaries about other things.

Not really we don't have holocaust TV series on all the time as they do "Resistance Against Japan" TV series and movies.
If we constantly had holocaust-themed media then I would be sick of that too.

There's like a movie about the Nazi occupation or the Holocaust every year. The latest seems to be The Zookeeper's Wife. You just don't have empathy for any other cause than your own.

How many "Resistance Against Japan" movies and TV series get produced in China every year? That shit is on the few main TV channels multiple times every day.
I complain about WW2 themed stuff in the West as well because it's so overdone but it's pretty easy to avoid if you just don't watch the History Channel.

中国每年到底生产了多少部“抗日”电影和电视剧？那些垃圾剧每天都在那几家大的电视频道重播好多遍。我烦的是西方那些二战主题的东西也搞得太过了，但是只要你不看历史频道就能很轻松的躲开。

well they are but still not as much as chinese antijapan tv shows and movies i can assure you during prime time at least one channel is airing it can't say same about holocaust topic in west
